any one ?
I know for sure that the first couple or so has 4 on each (I only have first one on vid) and the others are three each I think. So I have no idea other than that. Sorry.

I don't know how they're going to do it, but if Software Sculpters managed to fit 13 episodes of Utena onto 2 DVD's, as have US Manga Corps with the Record of Lodoss War OAV onto 2 DVD's, and Bandai are going to release all 49 episodes of Gundam Wing onto 10 DVD's, I'm sure they'll manage to fit 26 episodes of Trigun onto 8 DVD's. :B:

The first and last DVD's will probably have 4 episodes each.

It takes about 2gig to store an hour of average video.
DVDs come in many sizes, ranging from 4.7 to 17gigs.
If each episode is 25 minutes long, then you can easily fit 4+ episodes per disc.

Ummm, they'll probably do it like EVA.
4 on the first and second disk and 3 on each remaining one.
4+4+3+3+3+3+3 = 26.

They probably could have put it all on 2-3 disks, but they draw it out more and make more money this way
9-13 (13 per disk if you're saying they could fit on 2 disks) would result in the most horrid quality possible. I mean... might as well just not watch it...
And what are you going reviving 2 month old posts? o_O?? Everyone knows how it works now.

T2 DVD had three cuts of the film on one DVD and its still sharp throught out.
So they do it to draw out more money.

I for one have no problem having a 2 month old thread being brought back up. It's better searching for them and reviving old threads than starting a repeating thread.

right on L
Usually anime DVDs are on DVD-5 discs which are Single Sided/Single Layer discs. They can hold around 2 hours of video so could fit 4 episodes. Double Layered DVD-9 can hold around 4 hours of video so they could practicly fit 7-8 episodes. Thing is, unless you go into Double Sided DVDs, you won't be able to fit a 26 episode series into anything less than 4 discs. It seems companies don't want to spend the extra money on higher capacity discs for anime when they can spread them out across many volumes.
Still it really upsets me to have some series spreading to 8 volumes. That should not happen. I think 6 volumes should be the maximum. I don't want 3 episode DVDs. I think we should see more of what Bandai did to outlaw star. 3 Volumes would be perfect and much cheaper to collect.

YOU ARE SO DAMN RIGHT !!!, does any know where i can get thoses 3 DVDs ?
L: I don't mind certain threads being revived but Gohan's comment was barely related to the original thread. I just felt that a fact thread shouldn't start an opininated discussion... but then again, it is a discussion forum... so I'll shut up and take back my comment.
I just have to say one thing, no matter what we pay for DVDs... the Japanese have to pay more so be thankful... ^_^;;
Then again, manga's much cheaper there... but... whatever.
Same way as Evangelion. What were you thinking? Two episodes per disc?

Hey don, I didnt say that the quality would be perfect I was just saying that it is possible to fit a lot of episodes on a single dvd.

Well I know already its been said but the DVD just holds more stuff then VHS so it normally has 3 Episodes so 8 DVD's is about right!

First I have the DVD sets of EVA, Outlaw Star, and Trigun. Trigun works like this, 4 episodes on the 1st dvd and 4 on the last, the other six have only 3 per disc. Outlaw star is the way to set it up, even though its 3 volumes, its still a six dvd set, there are 2 per package...one with 5, the other with 4 episodes...thats how it worked...they could pack it into about 6 dvd's the smallest, which is Bubblegum Crisis:Tokyo 2040, they have only 6 dvd's the first 2 with 5, the rest with 4...all dvd's the best place to get em is on Buy.com, they have a massive selection of about everything for dirt cheap, between 18.99-22.99 a dvd, also you can get most ordered through Sam Goody, Suncoast, or Saturday Matinee at the malls...wqell you all have interenet, so Buy.com is the best answer:D
