What Fox will do with the comments about Lina's bust size

I'll make this quick. See, I just had this tremendous revelation about the comments on Lina's breast size. I know exactly how Fox will change these. It's usually something along the lines "I thought you were a little kid," or something similar, yes? Fox will change the dub so that they are referring to her HEIGHT! I have no evidence to back me up, but I am absolutley positive that I have discovered Fox's solution.

I've always thought Slayers would be a good choice for American general distibution; it's a mostly harmless comedy and the dub actors are pretty good. But then I remembered the bust size comments... I've already offered my fix for that and I still bet they go with it. Now, I just remembered another key fact: Lina casts BLACK magic, drawing power directly from the dark lords. The really powerful spells even involve pledging yourself to them. Suggestions for a Fox fix, anyone? I can't see them letting that pass...

Well remeber that scene in the museum where the ever charming Dr LEcter sends the corrupt cop bungee jumping with an open stomach?

Insert American Anime Editors in place of the Corrupt Cop, then replace them with either Japanese executives or other people who give a damn about anime.

I have my unedited (Well except for that scene at the end of Slayers that was accidentally cut) DVDs so I don't care what fox does. Be interesting how they deal with Shabranigdo offing Rodimus and Zolf though, and the bandit boss.

One problem here how wil thery deal with the remarks about how Amelias are bigger than hers. I mean shes shorter

I'm not even going to try to watch Slayers on Fox. I've got my Slayers and Slayers Next DVD (Slayers Try comes out next month!) boxsets right next to my DVD player and that's the only version of Slayers that I'm watching.

Based on previous history, Fox will screw up the whole atmosphere of Slayers. What's Slayers without jokes referring to Lina's breast size?! Plus the carelessly thrown swear words, the blood, and the bath scenes! Not to mention the dubbed version! My god. I cannot stand the dub voices (especially Zelgadis'). Lisa Ortiz is okay, but the rest are enough to make me claw my own eyes out.

Personally, I cant wait to see slayers on TV. We'll finally have some real anime to watch. The only good stuff on right now is Tenchi. I also seem to be the only one who likes the dub of slayers :heh:. I can see where you guys are coming from on Zel's voice, it's awful. And Lina's voice dosent fit her Japanese voice, but I think it makes the character easier to grasp in English. There are certain Emphases and such in voice acting that cant be picked up without knowing the language, the dubs (of slayers anyway) show this, where the Japanese dubs dont (to us americans anyway).

But, in all honesty, Im more worried about Censorship than weither or not it's subbed or dubbed. The dub is pretty good considering other dubs (The Evangelion dub is AWFUL), and it's most likely to be aired. But if you take slayers minus the Breast jokes and Shaby-dingo summoning, then... what do you have? Heh.

Okay, suppose they change lines about bust size to lines about height. What will they do with the lines about "that time of month"?

Alright, so I don't have the answer to everything. I'm pretty sure the 'that time of the month' stuff only occurs once over all three tv series. Either they change it to something along the lines of 'she's feeling too weak' (totally out of character for Lina, but since when has that made a difference to the censors?) or thy drop it entirely. I suggest all Slayers fans cling to their uncut tapes for dear life.

You have got to be joking!!! American televsion is actually showing a decent anime? If only it didn't get screwed up through the dubbing, the cutting, and the script changing. And, this will lead the people that see it to believe they know everything about Slayers, causing them to become a thorn in our side. Lovely. Also, if some of the Western population (not anyone here) including authorities would just grow up, this might not happen. Come on, people! Children are going to grow up, and breed wheter or not they sit in front of the tube and watch animated people making comments on their bust. I mean, look at what Fox did to The Vision of Escaflowne. Overall, Slayers is really good, but, I don't want people to see it at such low quality. I am done complaining now, so sorry for those of you who took the 60 seconds to listen to me whine.

ya know americans will either try to fix it themselves cuse i remeber pokemon just cause of the one where james cross dresses (wait there is many like that) he entered the bathing suit contest or sumthing like that and i dunno what they did to it i didnt get to see that episode but they called it a "lost episode" i dont want that to happen to slayers its gunna be all cut up and stuff they would skip all the side adventures and if they have one comment on lina's bust size i dont want them skipping the entire episode just because of that one comment... they will probably cut them out but knowing americans they will probably not show the entire episode

anyway...i think what they'll do will depend on the airtime (which i dont know, so a little enlightenment may be in order).
if its on the afternoon kiddy time...then i dont think there will be any point in watching it. no boobie jokes, no naga (hey, they might show the movies...), and no "satanic rituals of crystal crafting" ^_^.
