No, Van is not an angel. How much of the series have you seen? Can't really say what he is without a spoiler.
i really can't tell you this but i can't help myself :D
van is not an angel or a supreme being...
he has a blood of a Draconian (beings from the lost city of atlantis who has the power to control FATE)

There are no 'angels' in Escaflowne. The people who lived in Atlantis transformed their bodies so they had wings on their backs. Van's mother was one of the people from Atlantis, which is why he and his brother have wings.

From my resources, I have found out that van is not a Angel. He is a Dark Fort. You will find out what a Dark Fort is when you get farther in the series. I am a couple (hehehe) episodes ahead of the t.v. showings.

I did not buy this anime. It is on satallite and it is from the original series. Please understand that we do not buy cheap dubs when we have satallite!

Although it's been a while since I've seen the series, I REALLY don't remember seeing the words Dark Fort at any time..... ever.

Interesting. Over here you and Skarface are claiming there are more than one Escaflowne series. Over in the Dragonball forum, you are both saying there is a SSJ5 level. I am getting the impression that you
a. are making things up,
b. are taking fanfics MUCH too seriously, or
c. on acid.
