Hey I just watched the first two Gasaraki DVD's and I'm wondering if the series is worth buying all the way through?
I sort of made the mistake of buying some bad series because the first two disc were good. So I'm trying to avoid another.
Thanks.
what series was that?
i havent seen Gasaraki, but ive heard a lot of good things about it

i've seen up through the third tape, which i think is the same as the third dvd. if i'm correct, i'd say that you should get it. it was awesome, i can't wait for the next one to come out (if it isn't already:heh: ).

I, too, have only seen the first two volumes (7 eps) but my friend has seen the next 3 eps and says it gets really good and more story/plot is explained. I'm interested...it has a Evangelion feel to it...

So are you saying this is gonna have one of those ultra deep...pain pain... suffering suffering... oh and then I wake up endings?
I mean I do see the parallels in style and feel, but I'm hoping for no let down like the last few episodes of evangellion. Which left me with this lack of closure feeling.
Beats me, anyone seen the whole series?

I've seen the first ten eps. That's all that's been released y'see. Next DVD is coming out soon, though. Got a whole bunch of Japanese philosophy, which I always enjoy, but unlike Evangelion, it DOES have a point. For those who think the series slow, it does pick up the pace in the 3rd DVD. Will you be having beserker-EVA flashbacks in episode #10? Maybe...

Gasaraki is looking more and more promising the more i read about it. i just had a great feeling about it sinse i first saw it ::drool::
i should be able to borrow what's been released from a friend.
but yeah, it's even been compared to Lain... that, i find interesting.
oh yeah, and don't say ---- about Eva if you haven't seen the Film.
I though the ending to nge was fine, I mean shinji did resolve his 'issues' to some extent. The movie(s) just showed that well, he didn't really learn his lesson after all, and still gave the 'wtf! wha happen!' sort of feeling, especially when it abruptly ends to a black screen, like it got cut off.
I hope gasaraki doesn't end badly, as it is just starting to pick up with the 3rd dvd.
megumi is hot btw :D

Gomen, Havok-san. I have seen all of Eva and it is an excellent series, one of my favorites. I was just making the point that a lot of the religious imagery in Eva serves no purpose. In Gasaraki you get a whole bunch of Shinto and Noh imagery, but it ties directly into the plot. Nice opening song, too. 'Message #9,' is the name I believe.

no worries, Dryden... though i must say, whether or not the Religious ties in Eva have meaning for the story or not depends on the Perspective of the viewer. you may not have found any, but i certainly did.
back on topic anyways... Gasaraki sounds DEFINITELY like my anime... i will definitely buy this one nExt^^
Edit ::also.. i made my statement towards Tenkawa.

Hey now, don't get me wrong I really do like Eva as a series, but I'll be frank the ending wasn't as good as other episodes. My main complaint with the ending is that there wasn't any really good fore shadow to hint at the fact that he's dreaming. I mean I've watched it twice and I didn't really pick up any clues (and I'll give the disclaimer that perhaps they were too subtle or I wasn't watching close enough). But, its not like the Sixth Sense where there are clues like he only wears the clothes he wore on the day he died or how no people (other than the kid) every talk to him directly.
That said, I've read that they did run out of money and couldn't finish the series the way they originally wanted to.
Anyhoo, thanks for the feedback on the Gasaraki.

you're either thinking of the WRONG Anime, you simply aren't to bright, OR you just need to REview the series while paying closer attention.
Eva is BEYOND dreaming. also, don't say ---- about the series if you haven't seen the film End of Evangelion... it completes the story.

heh, I've only seen the first tape of Gasaraki, and I had to try very hard to stay awake. It was very boring to me. The previews were...interesting...
Previews for Gasaraki...
"My heart is beating, why? The wind is blowing. The fire is burning."
Next ep...
"My heart is still beating. The wind is still blowing. The fire is still burning."
I found Gasaraki kinda boring, but I guess I'll buy the next tape so I can judge it fairly...

Well I have seen the first 5 episodes (I own DVD 1 - 3) and I will have to say that what I have seen so far is very very pleasing. The way of doing lots of things and leaving you clueless at times is one thing I really like with Anime's... And Gasaraki hasn't let me down...

From what I've heard Gasaraki is a good series but you have to be willing to spend the money on it if you really want understand it all. Because if you base your opinion of the first few episodes then you miss out on the rest of the series.
This thread has helped me to make the decision to buy this series. Thanks guys!
