Well here it is my anime dvd collection has reached into the 250 range and im always looking for new ones well i was at suncoast video yesterday and i saw 2 slayer dvd collections they were 125$ each and i was gonna buy them but then i realized that i had no idea what they were about and why there were 2 box sets can some of you please help me out here is it worth the money is it a good series??

Yes and Yes. Slayers is great. I have both boxed sets (Series 1&2) and am waiting for the Slayers Try boxed set

Slayers is a fantasy/comedy. It makes fun of all the old D&D games plus a fair number of other anime. Each of the three series has a share of serious moments, but overall they just get more and more whacked out each series. A word of caution; the box set of the first series has an audio bug that you may or may not run into depending on your equipment. Maybe it will run fine, or maybe the Japanese track will be inaudible. Mine works, others don't. It's a gamble.

Because of the audio bug, and a slight improvement in animation and humor between the first and second series, I would reccomend getting the Slayers NEXT box set. It's really not hard to jump right into the middle of Slayers. A summary of the first season should be easy enough to find.

I'm alos waiting for Slayers Try on DVD, it will be worth the money and wait. I dont care to much for the onees ADV did though
