I've been trying to watch it for ages... and I finally saw it today. I had a feeling I'd like Trigun... but I love it to bits! I already had a Vash figure and a wallscroll... but I suddenly feel an urge to buy all the DVD's and every bit of Trigun merchandise that I can. :D
I think Trigun is really original, in that it takes the classic anime western-with-a-bit-of-post-apocalypicness setting, and inserts some hilarious characters. The action scenes with Vash are truly amazing and unpredictable... in most series, the hero would smash his enemies to bits, or at least try to... in Trigun, a whole load of weird stuff that is usually accidents or coincidences lead to Vash's victory. And even then, Vash seems to have a habit of losing and getting captured. :D (I also really liked the way that throughout the whole of the first 4 episodes, it is never actually stated outright that our hero IS Vash the Stampede, but you know it right from teh beginning.)
So, all in all, it struck me as an original and entertaining series. I'm going to have to stick with this one!

And one last note, for those of you that know my posting habits - no, I'm not going to make a Millie X Meryl thread. :p

Well its idea is kinda original. Im not sure which came first or who copied who, but trigun is almost identical to Ruoruni Kenshin! I mean they both had a past of destruction and all. Now they both vow never to kill. They both end up being spread around as legends yada yada yada... you see where im goin. Still I do love the anime! Both of em are awsome!

I just love the way that Vash is such a donut-loving weirdo. He's a truly loveable main character, and as a result, Trigun is rare among anime, in that you actually want the good guy to win, 100% of the time. :B:

I've only gotten halfway through the series...and I can still say you haven't seen anything yet! :B:

I've just ordered the second DVD... should come soon.
Vash definetly has my vote for the most loveable hero of all time. Honourable, funny, damn good dress sense and a classic laugh - Vash sure is a role model. :B:
