You know, I went to my first con last year and thought the cosplay was going to be lame. I was pleasantly surprised. It was hilarious. We saw a lot of Sailor Saturns (some were really, really good)--and yes, we did see the overweight, hairy dude dressed up as a sailor senshi. *lol* It was funny.

I know that the Sailor Mercury and Queen Serinity (*sigh*) players are professional models in Japan. The others are Just VERY good cosplayers. Keep in mind, however, most of their costumes are done by professionals (they cheated.)

Stiff, or starched costumes are pretty uncomfortable. With a Fuku it may be alittle different, but wearing that stuff for hours can be a pain.

I remember one sailor mars player was limping around because she made a bad choice in shoes, but I applaud her :bigclap: :bigclap: :bigclap: for trading perfection for comfort.

This may be a part off topic, but technically it is cosplay.
I just watched a great episode of Sailor Moon S series, where the villain figured out Usagi's identity as Sailor Moon, and revealed it in front of Sailor Uranus and Neptune. But the Sailor Scouts came to the rescue and Minako cosplayed as Sailor Moon! :lol: She had the meatballs and the speeches all done right, and even did a good job at imitating her voice, it was so funny. :lol: :D
She also used a new attack she called Sailor Moon kick, since she didn't have the sceptre, she also used her love chain, but called it something different. All the Sailor Scouts played along and it was so funny, the look on Usagi's face. I wish I could of gotten a picture to show you.

Well, although it was not for fun it technecally was cosplay. Venus did the "Sailor V kick" on the bad guy in that episode, but Sailormoon also did the same kick on some badguys early on in the series, (the episode with the photographer.) It was pretty funny listening to one voice actor doing an impression of another, (and alittle annoying too. :rolleyes: ) But cosplay is cosplay. I guess it dosen't matter why you do it.

The style of tux TM wears is more of a 1930's style (the old American Fred Astair movies type) and it's pretty expensive. Might I suggest eBay or some place like that? I won't mince words here, that style is rare and VERY expensive. The top hat, a real one is almost non-exsistant. But it's worth a try. Anyway, good luck in finding one.

Original charaters based on a series is cosplay. It's costume play, so any costume counts.

Yes that was me talking and I might be going to Manifest (I hope :heh: ). But I have given up on the Tuxedo Mask cosplay idea tho, not enough time or funds :( plus I wouldn't really fit the role.
