Serial Experiments LAIN
Serial Experiments LAIN has won many awards for it's originality around Japan and the USA. It has also won an award at the 1998 Austrailia Anime Festival of Sydney for its "use of questioning the reality of life when corresponding with modern day technology."
Lain is a young, quite, 'normal' girl until...
"Present day. Present time."
Chisa, a fellow classmate commits sucide. A week later, thirteen year old Iwakura Lain receives an eMail from that same girl.
LAIN : "What does it feel like to be dead?"
CHISA: "It really hurts! :)"
Chisa communicated with Lain thru eMail and continues to call her to the Wired.
CHISA: "Lain, why won't you come here?"
Proud to see Lain interested in computers, Lain's father buys her a state of the art Navi, and shortly enough, Lain has mastered its uses and begins upgrading it herself with hardware she mysteriously recieves. Eventually, Lain becomes 'socially inactive' {or does she really?} while she 'searches' throughout the Wired for.......................?
Serial Experiments LAIN is doubtlessly my favourite anime of all time. With thirteen episodes, and such an intense plot, there's much to happen that has yet to be anticipated. Any of you who have enjoyed the ponderence of existence and the world around you, this one's for you. Especially if you like stories that make you think.
LAIN : "no matter where, we are all connected."
