I have just watched the first two tapes of the Iria: Zeiram The Animation series. I found it rather good, who else has seen it, and what are your opinions of the series.
Also I have a question, how many tapes are their to the series?

Iria was one of the the first anime OVAs that i saw and is still one of my favorites.i first saw it on the Sci-fi channel and i decided to record it.BUT the day after i recorded it my sister stole my tape and recorded sailor moon on it(argggh!!),and now i haven't seen it in atleast 2 years (but i do want to see it again).
Anyway,there are three tapes in the Iria OVA series.

Iria: Zerium the Animation is an incredibly original production, in my opinion. It's nothing like the normal run-of-the-mill Anime you find around. The world of Iria is surreal and beautifully worked, well sort of...Hehehe... can you tell I loved it? Well I did. The characters are really well developed and the animation is incredible. Zerium is my favorite Anime villian... well, him and Ikari Gendo, both are real *bastards*... excuse my French.
If you haven't watched it yet, you should! An Anime-cult classic marking in up there with Akira, S.E.Lain, and N.G.Evangelion. And even the English dub is good, hard to come by these days...
Out of 10 stars, I'll probably give it an 8.8 (truthfully). I wish they could have made more than just those few OVAs (Are there 3 episodes?).

In the grand tradition of horribly cheesey japanese live action movies, there is a horribly cheesey live action version of Iria available as well ^^;
Iria is about a young and ruthless bounty hunter with a score to settle.
(That's pretty much what it says on the cover of my DVD)
A great movie, with awesome characters, especially Iria herself. My DVD has 6 episodes on it. I love all of them. :B:
Iria's a great character. It's a great anime with the kind of character that keeps you entertained with her spunk and ability. :)

yeah thats part of it too. mostly she hunts down zeriam, some kind of alien monster, which kicks ass. she does looser her bro to it and i think she wants to get revenge. i cant really remember. been a while since i last saw it but its good.

They used to show Iria on the Sci Fi channel and that kicked ass. :D

If you want a really interesting experience, see the anime and then see the live-action. The live action is SOOOOOO bad and unbelievably cheezy! Really really fake-lookins Zeiram. But it's funny to watch it and laugh.
*irrelevant factoid: in japanese, my name is Iria. I kid you not. ^_^
