I know that there are three other movies that Gainax made after the final episode.
Death, Revival, and End of Evangelion.
What I'd like to know (WITHOUT giving away too much of the movie's) is which of the three movies should I watch first.
It's kinda sad because I'm feeling empty on the inside. I can't believe that it's over.
;) The alternate world during Episode 26 was GREAT!
Anta Baka?
By the way.....is it true that Gainax is releasing another movie that TRULY ends that Evangelion storyline?

There are only three movies, Gainax has no plans to release any more movies...that was it.
Death recaps the events of the tv series, so you can pretty much skip it if you want.
Rebirth (I think you meant Rebirth when you said "Revival") takes up the story from about ep 24 of the series. So you could watch that first. On the other hand, "Rebirth" is included as the first part of "End of Evangelion" so you can actually skip Rebirth as well and just watch EoE.
"Revival of Evangelion" was actually the repacked version of Death and EoE that was re-released in Japanese theatres.
Oh, and here's some news about the movies for the rest of you, if you read this thread...Manga have said that they will be releasing the movies as a 2 DVD and 2 VHS set in Feb/March of 2001. They will be using ALL of the voice actors from the ADV tv series dub (so you can forget the rumours about Asuka's voice actress not doing it, she was probably just holding out for more $$)...and for you Americans out there, it will get a limited arthouse theatrical release. So there you go. Happy now?

They added some scenes to Death, I think that are kind of cool to see. They took those scenes and added them to their current release of the volume 6 DVD so you get some cool new footage in the Japanese (but not the upcoming American) release of eps 21-24 which I own and I must say the new footage rocks. So if you're not going to get Death, then at least get the region 2 version of volume 6, but if you're going to do that then you might as well buy Death because it isn't much more expensive and you can get it on the same DVD as EoE for only 8800 Yen.
I try and answer your question, My opinon is to watch Death & Rebirth first.
Reason, the contrast between teh TV and EoE is big, by watching D&R you get lead into EoE much more smoothly.
Plus the extra stuff in there is worth it.
If im not mistaken Revival goes
Death. Rebirth, EoE, so ultimatley that would be the one to watch, but ive never seen it myself so i cant really say.

Revival... is that the DVD with Death and Rebirth True(2) and EoE on it for 8800 yen from Gainax? Or is that just the name Gainax has given for the movies?
:liplick: I can't wait for the movies to come out now...that's great new Tamachan, thanks so much for the update. I was worried it wasn't going to come out on VHS and do what Princess Mononoke did-DVD exclusive. I can't afford a DVD player :bawling:

wasent death and rebirth kinda the same movie, i mean they were just 2 parts of the same moive (like a coin has a heads and a tails)
death is about an hour long, and basically a reminder of the series. rebirth is the first 20 mins of "end of evangelion". "death" is definatley worth watching first, as it contains footage from the "directors cut" which we have not seen. but its not so simple - there are 3 versions.
death - made by gainax with no anno help (part of death and rebirth) originaly shown in cinemas.
death(true) - version of death with imput from anno, shown on japanese tv.
death(true)^2 - a further edited version of the above, shown in cinemas imediately followed by eoe as "evangelion:revival" a re-release to the cinemas.
i've only seen death and i'm only repeating what i've found on other sites, so this could be slightly off. I don't know which version(s) manga will be releasing.
