I just bought Lain DVD 1 based on comments here (I didnt read any spoilers)and watched it. This is some werid ---- here Im telling you. Im assumeing that this is one of those animes that you have to watch the whole thing once then watch the whole thing over again to get everything, and or is an anime that everyone sees in a different light?

I love anime that makes you think!

This anime will make you think. Even Einstein would have a tough time figuring this stuff out. The over all intelligence of this anime is outstanding. Just beware,It will change the way you think and view the world forever.

see you space cowboys.

Hey, Blackheartstar, I just bought the first DVD of Lain recently myself and totally agree with you. It is weird--but what can I say? I'm dying to know what's going on. If I wasn't seriously lacking cash right now, I'd go out and buy the second one. I guess until I finish watching the series I'd better watch out for spoilers. (I guess that would make my coming to this forum a stupid move on my part! Ah, who cares?)

Lain? It's all good, folks. Seriously though, there's a whole bunch of philosophy, and it's not just conifined to one category the way Evangelion stuck to debating the human condition (not that that's a SMALL topic, by any means...) A lot of the stuff Lain covers might well show up in your course on Media Theory, so pay attention. If you take a course on Media Theory, that is.

If anime took a lot of acid, that would be Lain. It's so trippy it makes my mind flex in ways it shouldn't ever have to move inside its bone box. It's cool, and at the same time it manages to stay intelligent without being really lost in itself.

I recently purchased the first dvd myself. I was very impressed with the storyline. In a sense it reminds me of Xenogears, it makes you doubt what is real and what is not.

Anything that makes you think and debate what is real and what is not is amazing in my book

Has anyone seen anything else that makes you debate reality?
