If you have paid more attention, every villain in the serie is amazed about why he is worth 60mil$$(yup they count as double dollar?!?!), so you are not the only one. As for the reason, they all think he destroyed a big city.(leaving millions homeless) And by the distruction he has caused(almost every town he comes acrossed gets obliterated, just by being in the vicinity of it)

I got DvD #7 just the other day! It gets way better as it goes. He and his angel arm are awsome!

But yeah. I finished the series on VHS (didn't have a DVD player at the time) and I was very impressed. It is easily one of the best animes out there.
