Kaji in EoE?

Ok, well for those of you that have seen it and have the video, please look back at this part of the movie.

During Seele's invasion of Nerv there was a scene that had a hallway full of dead bodies. Their were two people shooting at each other. One was shot down. The Other guy walked up to him and shot him again on the ground. But He had a ponytail! What kind of soldier would walk up with a pistol and a ponytail and shoot them again?

Kaji.

I got this off another message board I visit, and while I think it is absurd (I checked the scene and see no ponytail) I wonder what other people think..Check out this pic....

I certainly do not remember seeing a ponytail.

but it is something i will have to see for myself.

Imagine if Kaji really is still alive and an elite soldier.

Personally i dont see Kaji being the type to go in for open combat. More of a gentalmens war man.

but the picture quality in mine is at best average, i doubt they'd try to bring him back unless he did something more important than execute nerv employees. I just finished watching the first four episodes of EVA and i noticed that rei was injured just like Asuka in EOE cept that her eye was the other one and Rei appeared to him just like in the very first episode.

ther's a little lump at the back of the guy's head that might be able of pass of as a ponytail, not too sure though...

however i would like to know who this person is, he wasn't dressed like any of the other guards, nor did he act like one(he seemed sort of relaxed in a grim sort of way, i can imagine kaji moving like that)

he was also armed with a pistol as opposed to the machine gun everyone else had.

And the soldier that was going to kill Shinji was armed with a pistol, not a machine gun

It doesn't look like a ponytail... just when seen really close... It might be a part of the uniform... or a part of the armor...

I guess it could be a pony tail...The problem I see is that Well yes Kaji may still be alive but I'd guess that a bit more importance would be given to him in the movie then returning to overkill an employ...Besides if I were a soldier and i was going to finish off someone i wouldn't waste my machine gun fire. Id rather stick to my side arm.
Besides suppose it was Kaji what importance would this have?? In my opinion none whatsoever. If hes dead he's dead. If hes alive he lived to finish off a couple of people and then died in the third impact anyway so whats the difference.

no it is not a ponytail - it is part of the guy's armour. Ive even used a very large magnifying lens to look at the pic.

importance? dont you see it? if the guy were indeed Kaji, then it sould solve the very old debate of "who killed Kaji"

You started it on Evacorp (not one of our members favourite places) and I bought it to Eva2000 :) because I thought it was an interesting idea, though obviously not true......To start the debate again, you said 'what kind of soldier shoots someone then shoot them again?' The answer is : a professional one. It is common practice for hardened combatants to shoot bodies again to ensure the person is dead and not faking. Also, as many people have said, it is not a pony tail, but the piece of armour to protect the back of the neck......

Oh well, it was an interesting idea, but unfortunately, Kaji is dead :(

This shall be answered when the DVD is released I think but it does have some merits, you never see him get shot and Misato didn't see him when she died which I didn't understand, just a Rei

just bec. you didnt see it doesnt mean it didnt happen.

the facts point out that Kaji is dead - using the figure in EoE is not enough to prove otherwise - it is not even enough to hint that it is Kaji. if you say it is kaji - i think your assuming too much.

the debate should be on "who killed kaji" not "whether kaji is dead or not"

Interesting theory. Non the less I don't belive this mystery character is of any importance. It could be Misato KAji a soldier with strange body armor or for all you know it could have just been some guy no one ever heard of that had a pony tail... UIf it was Kaji he died anyway. If it was Misato she died anyway. If it was just some guy he died anyway so who cares...

Perhaps one should follow their own advice before dealing it out. Plus this forum is for serious discussion, people can enjoy serious talk without it needing to be fun.
