What is Chiriko's power?

I've seen the ep 1-36, and still I couldn't figure out what is his ability. all the others a clear, but all he done is blow in a leaf, and that's all. I'm sure it's not his power.

Chiriko's power is sound like Amiboshi but Chiriko's power is much superior that Amiboshi...

Yeah...::scratches the back of her head:: He's a GENIUS. Ultimately, a genius...and his power has nothing to do with the leaf whistle. That was just good thinkin'.

Well, Chiriko's "power" as a Suzaku Shichisei is his Knowledge, as symbolized by the Scroll given to him by Taiitsu-kun. It is brought up multiple times by Tamahome or Nuriko in teasing Tasuki that he should give up being a bandit and become smart like Chiriko.

When he entered, he was playing the "leaf whistle" in order to disrupt Amiboshi's tune--this was a bit of quick thinking, as Doku said, on Chiriko's part. It is not, however, his "power".

In the manga tankoubon and also in various other sources, Chiriko's "power" is identified as his superior knowledge...

Chiriko's most notible power is knowledge. He can also use the leaf whistle
as stated before in earlier posts but if you watch the OAV's he also demonstrates
some real power. I won't spoil much, just that Chiriko works with Chichiri
using power and some magic. You'll see. It's not totally obivious but you can
tell. It's when they are at Nuriko's brother's house. Watch. It's cool. Chiriko
acts so much stronger and he doesn't seem as shy ^_^
By the way.....does it bug anyone how in the tv series his hair is brown
but in the OVA it's pink? Daaaaaa.......He's still kawaii either way!!

The only reason its "Pink" is because he's a spirit...dead...and therefor, his colors are all lighter. Notice how in the original series Nuriko's hair was DARK purple and in the OVAs it was violet?

And no, he wasn't using magic. He was lending life force, if doing anything more than watching. He WAS, however, using his power (remember when his hand glowed?) to write the wards Chichiri needed as per 'Chiri's instruction. Poor Monk was swamped and got the kid to help.

When he tried to possess Rokou, it was simply his anger and passion to help that fueled him and made him appear to have physical power, which he didn't have...sadly... The pain Rokou experienced was from an attempted possession. I think being crammed down into my body or mind by another spirit unwillfully would hurt, na?

well, thanks you guys, now I know more about Chiriko. I've never seen the OAVs, and probably won't for a long time, but I've seen the tv eps 1-42 and will see the rest soon (Nuriko died :bawling:).

and about the things Tightskun (mispelled...) gave the suzaku seven, what did Chichiri had? Nuriko had bracelets, Chiriko a scroll thingy, Mitskake a little pot thingy, Tasuki the fan, Hotohori the holy sword, Tamahome became stronger. but Chichiri had somethin that looked like his neckles...

I guess I kinda worded my sentences funny. I know Chiriko couldn't use magic but he showed actual power in the ova's than in the series ^_^
It was so weird to see Chiriko get mad too....*sigh* that was kinda sad.

As for the gifts.....nuriko-bracelets, tasuki-diamond tessen that only he can use, tamahome-power, chiriko-scroll(that becomes really important later on, hotohori-sword, mitsukake-holy water(which, in the manga he later gives to chichiri so he can one day heal his scar if he wants) and chichiri got new prayer beads. they supposedly increase his power. and boy is he strong! notice how he's the only one who can really consistantly stand up to nakago's blasts. chichiri would be as strong as nakago but he doesn't use his power for evil. but in the ova's you'll be able to see just how powerful he is *cheers* my fav. episode is ova2 ep. 5

His power is his genius level IQ. In the manga, he get's really stupid if his symbol disappears.
