has anyone seen or heard of this anime?...any thoughts on it?
It's an enchanting, well-paced, funny story about the awkward position a young man is placed in when he becomes the manager of an Inn for girls.
I'd have to say it's a must-see...

i think you'll meet a few people around here who like Love Hina... I haven't actually seen the anime, but i've read the first couple of volumes of the manga, and i do find it quite enjoyable.
It's nothign too mentally draining, with a fairly simplistic concept, but it is bloody funny, and i can't wait to watch it.
Another recommendation!

Well I have only seen Love Hina on my computer but I think it is a verry good anime so if you have the chanse see all of it
i dislike this anime because it has such a tenchi feel to it. one guy surrounded by a swarm of beautiful, talented women who all seem to be infatuated by him. and look at him! he's a geek!
though i must admit the art is pretty and the CG stuff is nice.
the plot however, sucks. stupid guy. stupid girls. the last few eps were a desperate attempt to salvage some point to the beginning of the story. it was still dumb.
i know alota ppl dont agree with me here. but its just my opinion.

Well see though the fact that is is moronic and light hearted is why I like it so much :D it's a change of pace for me from my regular life.
this anime is in my top 3 (with OMG and HMM), but that's because i'm a sucker for these types of anime.
however, after reading the manga, i think i like the manga a lot better. the "love love" relationships are a lot more interesting and obvious, which i guess is what i "want" in the story. :D

it seems that in a few cases, something gets "lost" in the manga-anime translation. Why is that?

Hmm... because they try to put about 20(hypoteticaly, i'm not saying there's 20 Love Hina tankoubons) 200 pages books into 26 30 minutes episodes? Example of this would be One Piece episode 1. They changed the whole Lady Arbyda saga to fit it in one episode an slap in Nami at the same time, who should be appearing many episodes later. They also didn't even put the very interesting and IMHO very important, beggining of the manga, where they start off Luffy as a kid and show his determination on acheiving his dream of being like his idol Shanks.
And hum because its not the 'original' and there's more people on the anime team so they might modify it more to their own desire, for marketing or whatnot(see what they did to DBZ manga conversion? as much as i hate DBZ, i'll take it in example as the worse conversion ever), less conveying the touch of the artist creator.
Also, the simple fact of reading seems to draw you in a lot more and simply sucker you in with the plot, thus making enjoyment a lot better. Anyway like you said they do eleminate lots of stuff when they convert mangas to anime (like one of my fave Houshin Engi character, Roshi, doesn't even appear in the anime ;_; )
There might be a bunch of other reasons i think mangas are better too, but its 4:26am and i just woke up ;_; (well i fell asleep pretty early due to no sleep the night before and two days ago too).
And i also think the drawings are prettier :p

good points foryth
it's weird though in the case of evangelion, the anime was brought out before the manga, and many people still think the manga is superior...
is that because of the medium? or do people prefer yoshiyuki sadamoto's interpretation of the story to the original?

Hmm... about eva i don't think to verdict should be lifted yet, as we have yet to see if this will convey the deepness of the later episodes or whatnot... but they usualy take their time more in manga and like i said reading suckers you in.
