Shojou Anime

Ahhhh...Marmalade Boy. One of my favourite Shojou animes. Anybody here seen it? It has to be the one of greatest animes ever. Also Dna² is pretty cool too. Tell me what you think of Shojou and what's your favourite Shojou anime.

ive seen marmalade boy and my sis owns the whole series and she even has some movie for it too. i thought it was kinda weird and i really loved all those twists and plots in the story hehe. :lol:

i like shoujo anime such as Gundam Wing and X-the movie.
and i am starting to get into magical girl stuff and UTENA.

I quite like Utena, and Hana Yori Dango is also strangely addictive ^^; I also like Child's Toy, which is also classed as shoujo for some reason.

ive seen childs toy too. its ok, but my sis told me that its a very long series. its funny and weird sometimes but its fun to watch

um well its about a girl named tama and shes like an actor and she tries to solve ppls problems. she has amananger who she calls a pimp hehe :lol: there was a bully at school named um cant remember and she managed to change him and they both like eachother. its a long series. lot of dramatic parts.

Er...the girl is named Sana, not Tama ^^;;

It's an incredibly hyperactive and funny series that defys description to some extent. Appeals to males and females, even though it's classified as shoujo.

What is Shojou Anime btw? :o

Shoujo = girl, shounen = boy.

So shoujo anime is anime that is meant to appeal more to girls...more drama and romantic stuff, like Fushigi Yuugi, Marmalade Boy, and Hana Yori Dango.

Shounen anime is usually more action-driven, aimed at boys...I guess typical examples would be Dragonball and Yu yu Hakusho. I believe Ranma was also originally published by Shounen Sunday Comics.

This is not to say that only girls like shoujo and boys like shounen. Kenshin would probably be classified as a shounen titles, but the male characters were deliberately drawn in a softer style that would appeal to the female market.

Ive heard of Marmalade Boy but Ive never seen it. Whats it about?? My fav. shojou is Cardcaptor Sakura.

oh yeah oops sama. hehe :heh: well marmalade boy is a very long series and its about a girl named miki and a guy named yuu. um well their parents like switch partners and now the all live together in one big old house. there miki starts to love yuu but then she still cant forget her first love ginta. so you can kinda call her a player sort of hehe :lol: . its an intresting story to watch. oh yeah mikis friend um whats her name (cant remember :heh: ) is dating their teacher namura sensei. its fun to watch the plots and stuff.

Ummm...Miki's best friend is Meiko. (My favourite female character in the whole series.) I only seen some of it so don't spoil it!

how could you miss sailor moon.it is probably one of the best shoujo anime there is(not the dubbed version).

and to answer your question Apollo-Chan,video girl ai is a very good anime to get into.i really enjoyed it.but that is just my opinion.

Video girl ai is ok...I'm a fan of Katsura's artwork, but man, he doesn't know how to write an ending. All the endings to his series SUCK.

Well...there is this dude called Junta Momenari or something like that. He has this DNA which enables him to get any girl he wants. In the future there was this Massive over-population problem and an agent was sent tot he past to clear things up by getting rid of the source. Not really killing him but more like removing the DNA. I might have gave away too much but watch it for yourself. It is great!

No problem...It is really good. I very much liked it. I hope to watch Videogirl AI. I heard it was only 6 episodes? Really short but then again Boku No Marie was 3 episodes.

He is too shy to approach her so he makes an android of Mari and names the android Marie. All the same characteristics of Mari but soem diferences. Well anyways...Karigari is living with Marie and it is basically have a normal life but what gets in the way is that Marie has feelings for her maker! I adore this series because Marie's seiyu is Yuko Miyamura (YES!!!) But it is short. I want there to be more than 3 episodes...prepare for a disappointment for the last episode. I won't say anymore.

of all the great shoujo anime's u name here, how can you forget Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (aka kare-kano)?! it is yet another great anime directed by Anno Hideaki!

Hara Yori Dango and Kare-Kano are my favorite shoujo anime... they come with great manga's too.

Who made you think I forgot that one Yumiko? That is not exactly my favourite but it is freakin hilarious.

And Fushigi Yuugi is a Shoujou...of course. Most of the characters in that anime are women...I think.

The number of women in an anime doesn't determine whether it's shoujou or not...remember, this is anime aimed at girls, so the main characters of shoujou anime are often all males (just rather good looking ones ^^; ) Actually most of the characters in FY are men, although the lead is female.

Would you guys suggest seeing Fushigi Yuugi? I have access to rent it (the episodes) and was wondering if it was worth my time. I see it a lot of it on the internet and stuff but I was just curious. I usually get sub videos but since I haven't seen it aired on tv I thought it might be decent dubbed. (The dubs mostly seem bad that are aired) Also, have any of you guys seen Sakura Wars? Would this be Shojou anime?

well... it wasn't mentioned once in this forum. i was very surprised to see all these Eva fans and yet they havent heard of Anno Hideaki's other great piece of work... argh!

it is such a kawaii love story, and yet, Anno still is able to put a bunch of philosophy into it that makes us ponder about wat he means...

hey blue fushi yuugi is an ok series. a lot about love and stuff. if your really into a girl kinda anime series then its for you :D for me as a guy i didnt like it much but my sis loved it.

blue, fushigi yuugi is a cool anime series... i especially like Tamahome. but then, i like most of the guys in shoujo anime... they are just drawn to look so GQ...

Yeah I would say the same but I am not gay but my favourite character in Fushigi Yuugi would be Nuriko and Chichiri. I love the whole idea of the mask!! Oh he is soo cool!
