Oi, I've been wanting to see/read Ayashi no Ceres ever since I first heard about it! At our local Japanese bookstore, they have a lot of AnC merchandise. *Sigh* Isn't the anime supposed to be released in English sometime soon? I forgot where I heard that.

I've seen some of it, and it is currently on my most anticipated releases list. Oh yes, it's definitely by Watase-san; the art should be a dead giveaway, really. And if you can't see the similarities to Fushigi Yugi, you are not paying attention. That said, it is darker in tone than Fushigi Yugi. The SD is present, but much much rarer. Far as I know, it gets nasty quick , and it pretty much stays that way. Very nice music as well, I should add.

The only problem I have is that servant person. His/her look is totally out of place with the rest of the series.

I've heard some good things about this anime, and the web sites I've seen on it make it look good. Unfortunately, it seems like this anime has been caught between fansubs and official release (some eps have been subbed, but now that the rights have been bought you'll have to wait for the official release to watch the rest :().

I'd like to see it, but I hesitate to watch it cuz I can only see like, 6 episodes -- then I'll have to wait a year or two for the official release.....

<sigh> the curse of not speaking Japanese (Baka Random :P)

Manga, no doubt about it.. i always have a preference for manga though...

I haven't seen the anime version, but from all those who've both read the manga and seen the anime, they said the anime was horrible in comparison with the manga.

But apparently those who haven't read the manga thought the anime was fabulous, so you might want to check it out anyway^^.

I've never read the manga. Did they take the totally out of place servant guy/girl out of it? That would be reason enough for me to check it out. Is there a fan translation on the web? (don't tell me it's breaking the rules to ask that. How does the AnC manga compare to the FY manga?

The manga is supposed to be released by Viz somtime this year. I downloaded the first two episodes, and I thought they were pretty cool. I like Aya much better than Miaka!

though it is darker than FY, they still have one hell of a funny character in Q-chan.
bishounen aplenty.
Aya is a weak character, but Ceres was cool.

the ending seriously lacked... bad ending :(
Tooya, like Tamahome is a ------ character.

Yesyesyes!! I love ayashi no ceres- there's something for everyone: romnati mush, violence, intrigue, buckets full of bishonen.. ^_^ I've seen the first 4 episodes of the anime and read the first few manga and I loved both. I think they cut a lot of plot out for the anime but what I saw was very well done in my opinion. *sigh* Yuuhi wa daisuki!!

hi minna~ =)

Ayashi is a much more darker series than F.Y. and not as funny (in my opinion). I've read the first 4 or 5 volumes of the manga and then i was told the anime was already out here - so i decided to watch the anime instead

anyway Q-san is more like a 'comic relief' in the series - and i think she was created for that reason. In the manga, anyway, i didn't feel that she was out of place - in fact she's pretty funny ^_^

for some reason, with Watase-sensei's work - i always end up liking the side characters better than the main female and male leads (for example in F.Y - it was Tasuki and Nuriko and in ANC - Yuuhi and Ceres). I didn't like Miaka and although Aya is slightly better than Miaka - she's not my fav. either *no offence intended for any Miaka/Aya fans*

Tooya seemed kinda...i dunno but he just kinda felt boring to me(in what i've read up to in the manga and seen in the anime series anyway) and if I compared him to Tamahome, I would prefer the later =)

The music is good however....i really like Scarlet ^_^ and of course the animation is beautiful - but then again it is by Yuu Watase after all =)

I was wondering too.
