musashi had been up all night getting numerous emails, all of which were from others in his school, but not one of them came from the hacker

opening the mail he reads
"you seriously need some help" it was addressed from damien.

"Great, another smartass" says Musashi to himself. he had gotten several emails of this type.

he writes back
"yah well, i bet you haven't even HEARD of LiBardou!!"

[Akira pushed his trolley slowly down the narrow isle. The grocery store's shelves were piled high with 'Instant - just add hot water' type products.]

Just what exactly is Nerv for, he wondered, all this security - all these mysteries.

[A car's headlights flashing through the window brought him back into the real world. A narrow blacked unmarked car had pulled up opposite the store - and stayed there.]

Great, they're still watching me...

Both Damien and his computer fumed over the attachment that Musashi had sent.

"Oh boy monday's going to be fun" Damien thought to himself as he started the long process of salvaging his computer

At around 8:30 Damien finally managed to clear the last infected file from his computer. He shut it down and stood up - very carefully. He punched a nearby wall to vent his rage, and immediately regretted it. He stood for a while holding his hand, grumbling to himself.

"Stupid.....i'll show you....see if i..."

He decided to take a walk and ventured out into the cool night air, closing his door behind him.

Musashi glances at his watch 9:30am...in the morning someone might notice that my father's account is locked and check it up... he puts his head down on the table.

Musashi had only known his foster father for a few years, but would it be enough for him to risk getting himself arrested for musashi's sake? maybe, but someone will still find out..eventually...

Once the NERVnet administrator finds out he'll tell the commander..and then everything will be overMusashi shifted his gaze back to the computer screen reply you bastard

Damien sat on the ledge of his building, idly thinking about the events of his first day. He'd managed to sleep through most of it so there wasn't an awful lot for him to think about. So what was he supposed to do now? Just continue on? He'd already made one enemy, and more would probably follow. He sighed and stared blankly over the city

[Soujiro is standing on one of the escalators w/c is seen to be moving downwards. he's right hand is in his pocket and seems to be playing w/ something. after he gets off the escalator, he looks down at his shoes and sees a piece of paper stuck in his right shoe. he moves toward a nearby trashcan and bends down to take the paper off with his right hand. after that he throws the paper in the wastebasket, and walks toward the right corridor]

[Akira peers out of the side corridor at the man he had tentatively identified as Soujiro Makoto, he was almost positive that this was one of the people assigned to him. When he was sure the man was long gone, Akira walked calmly up to the trashcan and examined the paper inside]

"Hmmmm. Interesting."

Kuroi quickly turns around too after seeing the reason of why Jamie turned around...

[OOC: Hey, eva_02's soul, I think it might be a tad bit weird that you somehow knew where Meiran lives... By the way, are you sure this part is alright with Hiyoku? I wouldn't write this part without permission from her... anyhow, what's done is done... lets just hope she doesn't get mad at us for doing this... Yawning lazily, Meiran tossed her shirt into the corner, and stretched. After all this, she needed to really relax with a niiice, long bath. There was too much that was troubling her, and the best thing to do was just find some way to relax her exhausted body to hopefully give her already f'ed up mind a moment of peace.
/If only for the silence../ came the thought for perhaps the thousandth time that day, and though it wasn't entirely unwelcomed, it always seemed to burrow itself under everything else until it was acknowledged.
/I hate that I couldn't say or do anything back there...Well, at least I know where the two of them are in case I need to talk to them...I might, a little later.../
Reflexively pulling the thick band around her hair out, she continued with her wandering train of thought as the previously sustained tresses spilled over her shoulders and down her back, now all her covering as she reached for the towel on the back of the chair at her desk.
/..and NERV...what the hell do they have to do with everything around here? Perhaps they're the reason Tokyo-3 is regarded as a fortress...I'm going to have to get Katsukari to spill something../
Turning, she wanted a final look at Tokyo-3 before it changed, but instead of the blunt geometric shadows cutting into the molten sky, a pair of newly-familiar faces gawked.
/What th' ----..?/
The towel flipped over her shoulder, Meiran blinked, her expression one of puzzled surprise.
Then she remembered that she only had a towel lightly lying over her shoulder.
Kuroi rapidly spun around, blushing furiously.
Jamie's face became a shade of crimson, and he turned his head slightly. "On a cheerful note though,those ARE very nice."
Meiran twitched.
About 5 seconds passed.
Within those 5 seconds, Meiran's mind connected all the dots and a bright neon sigh was flashing in her mind, "KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL!!!!"

She twitched again.

"BEATEMSENSELESS!!!!MAKEEMAFRAIDTOEVERLOOKATAWOMANAGAIN! !!"

This time she didn't twitch.


This time, her fist connected with Jamie's gut as he was thrown from his balance, and fell a few feet to the roof below. The other hand had closed around the hilt of her sword. Catching Kuroi with the sheath, she brought him down as she lept through the window, quickly wrapping the towel around herself and securing it.
She only waited long enough for the two of them to turn their horrified eyes upwards, then the flash of metal gleamed in the fading light of the day, and she ran towards them, the blade swinging wide enough to miss them, but she knew they'd be scared as hell. She didn't intend to inflict any damage, but sure as hell they were gonna REMEMBER not to mess with her.
This, however, was not revealed by the bloodthirsty glint in her eyes.

Kuroi sees Meiran charging at them and sees that she was going to get to Jamie first...

(That glint in her eyes... like the look I had after the day my uncle left me... is she really gonna... Just in case, I'm gonna take no chances...)
Kuroi jumps up, his head was throbbing where Meiran hit it... He runs and jumps in front of Jamie... however, the distance was not far away enough from the sword and the metal cut his face... from the right side of his cheek to the bottom of his right eye... He was lucky that her blade wasn't a millimeter closer otherwise it would have cut into his eye and the cut wouldn't be just around half a millimeter deep...
Kuroi feels something cold rub hard against his cheek and then a split second later, finds a sharp pain and warm liquid feeling right below his eye...

She was pissed.
No, Meiran was enraged. Amused all the same, but the rush of anger had overwhelmed her, so as she saw the trickle of blood running down Kuroi's face, part of her stopped, but the driving physical force kept barreling foreward, and she pinned Jamie against the wall of the building under her window, the blade of the sword inches from his throat, holding Kuroi by the front of his shirt.

(Jamie...are you an idiot or something... sneaking into a girls house at night?!?!! What an idiot... I thought you were going for a walk or something...)
"Oh boy...."
Kuroi looks dazed and funny with the blood smudged on his face...

Kuroi struggles and gets out of Meiran's white knuckled grip...

Meiran's grip tightened. She didn't intend to let either of them go that easily.
/Hnn, perhaps I should stop..nahh../
Her mental musings went unnoticed as her face was set on Neutral, eyes still blazing, dead set on Jamie's.
Her grip on the sword tightened, causing the blade to shift, glinting ominously. If anyone made a sudden move, Jamie was about to have another hole to breathe through.

Jamie was pinned but he tried to remain calm,knowing if e moved he was going to get it where it hurts."Meiran"he manged to breathe out"I'm sorry,i wanted to talk,but i thought your guardian mightn't like the idea so i went into the only available open window on your side,how was i to know it was your bedroom?And besides,the time you take killing me and kuroi,you could be dressed by now.I'm really sorry"

[Ko walked into Nerv Central, finally getting the hang of this whole floorplan. He frowned and walked towards the Intelligence section. He had been on the job a few days and still hadn't had a thing to do ... He was confused]

Kuroi sees Meiran's grip tighten...
(Man, what kind of excuse is that... Do you think her guardian would like the boy who sneaks into one of his house's rooms to talk to Meiran without permission, or a boy who knocks and asks if he can talk to Meiran with permission... Oh, well... we're just lucky that we didn't fall off of the balcony...)
Kuroi looks up at Meiran... his vision a bit blurred as to some of the blood has gotten into his right eye making it look a little spooky...
"Hey, Meiran... we're really sorry about this incident, trust us, it'll never happen again... We've learned our lesson of not sneaking into other's rooms without permission... (at least I hope Jamie has...) and we swear we won't ever do it again... I'm sure Jamie respects your sense of privacy as much as I do... we're really sorry..."

Jamie knew the reply sounded phony but it was genuine.He just wonderd if Meiran knew that.He glanced at Kuroi.Man that cut is bad,he thought,he looks weak and ready to drop at any moment and i can't help him because of my stupid decision to sneak in and have a private conversation.Dammit!

Kuroi's vision is getting blurred...
"Hey, Meiran, can you let go... I need to clean this up or else it's gonna get all over the place..."
The cut stopped bleeding but the blood covered half of his face now...

Her neutral expression melted into a lazy smirk, and she slowly eased back on the two of them, releasing Kuroi and moving the sword away from Jamie.
"...I guess I over-reacted a little, there.."
Walking over to where the sheath had landed, Meiran carefully picked it up.
"I'd really like it if 'ya could try th' door, though. Kuni'd be thrilled to know that I made any friends."
/Knowing him, he'd probably give me a medal./
"Sorry, I kinda let myself go over the edge there," she smiled a little.
/A little. Right. You nearly slit th' poor guy's throat./
"There's plenty 'a time 'ta talk inside--you can take care of that, too, Kuroi--I'm sorry, I didn't really think I'd hurt either of you like that. An' besides...a towel ain't very good fer isulation."
Smiling fully, Meiran motioned for the two of them (for obvious reasons) to go up the ladder ahead of her.

The trio were stopped by a man in a black suit.

"Himegoto Meiran, Johnson Jamie and Shima Kuroi. You will come with me"

And without another word he led them to a waiting car

"Oh and miss Himegoto, please get some clothes on"

as Jamie climbed up the ladder,he thought phew,that was close.She coulda killed me.He said"Yeah,were you suprised to see me?next time i'll think i'll knock."Jamie laughed,completely over the fact that he almost had a hole in him.

Jamie turned around and saw the men in black suits"Please step in the car."Jamie was very cautious about stepping into a strangers car because he had brain cells,so he said"Who are you?"

[The man turned to Jamie and looked stern. He flipped out some ID, saying he worked for the government]

Man: Get in, kid. We don't have time to play games.

[Hiyoku]

Meiran's sword was out a split-second after the man in the suit had shown up, ready to turn on him in an instant.
"Who th' hell're you?"
Her adrenaline level surged. Jamie had already gone back into her window.
/Looks like he'll be comin' back down here../
she thought bluntly.
Glowering at the lack of a reply, she decided to save it, and slipped the sword back into it's sheath for the second time within that minute. Growling obscenities, she uncerimoniusly climbed back into her room, grabbed a t-shirt, jeans and other unmentionables, changed behind Jamie and Kuroi's turned backs, her shame next to nil, and followed, her sword still resting in an uneasy grip.

"ok,i'll get in,but i don't think Meiran would look good in an orginization without any clothes on."Jsmie hesitated,but was pushed into the car.

[Ko looked around shocked. He couldn't believe what he was seeing ... No, this couldn't be happening. They ... couldn't be returning ... No ... no ... But it was all true. He had to ... to ... tell the kids ... ]

Meiran glowered, pulling her hair back as she avoided any of the strangers' touch.

Plopping into the car seat she eyed all of them wearily.

This seat hurts my ass,Jamie thought when he sat down,but he didn't say anything because these guys had guns and there was a girl next to him that he'd seen naked.

[Akira was once again hunched over his keyboard, his terminal tapped into the NERVnet, legally using what privaliges he had.]

[The day had not been a good one, he had confronted his superior, demanding information about the men trailing him. She denied he was being followed catorgorically. When he had raised the question of they were actually supposed to be doing here, the only answer he could get out of her was cryptic, mysterious: 'It will all become clear in time...']

Kuroi walks after his friends and sits in the car in silence... while wiping his face with the sleeve of his school uniform
"Wow, I bled a lot..."

[The children were taken into Nerv Central, thoroughly lost, found again, and then brought before a rather tall man with black hair and a nervous smile ... He was the one who had cussed in their class the other day ... ]

Jamie looked at meiran,thinking if it was okay to do anything."He noticed a crimson splash on her."Looks like you got more blood on you.Jamie wiped it off with his sleeve."That's the second time today Meiran,you should be more careful."Jamie smiled.

Silently reaching into a back pocket, Meiran pulled out a hankerchief, flames embriodered in one corner.
"Here, Kuroi..use this, it should help a little, I think."
Smiling, she handed it over to him.
/If anything, we have to be able to handle this with clear heads../

"er...sorry about getting my blood on you..."

Ko: Hi ... er, Hello. I'm ... uh ... Hakaisha Ko. I work for a government agency called Nerv, and you are currently in Nerv Central, the Nerv Headquarters. Take this ...

[Ko hands each of them a book entitled "Welcome to Nerv" and turns around, beconing them to follow him] *I hope they don't recognize me ...*

[Ko grins nervously]

Ko: You'll find out in a matter of minutes ... Follow me. [Ko turns to their escort] You're dismissed.

Jamie takes his book.NERV,that's where katsukari works,and my foster father.Thinking about his foster dad almost brought tears to his eyes again,as did hearing the name Nerv,but he held it back.I must be strong in this moment of dispair,he thought.

"What a drag, can't you just tell ONE person to take us instead of constantly switching... it's getting tiring..."
(Man, and this is the fabled NERV HQ... with all the best tech in the world?!?!)

Meiran had again set her face on "neutral."
/Can never be too careful about this./
Sending Kuroi and Jamie a little glance, she stared down at the booklet, then at the man who'd introduced himself as Ko Hakaisha.
"I think th' best thing to do right now, Mr. Angst, is tell us what th' hell's going on here," she looked him in the eye, her voice deep and serious.

(Wow, talk about split personality.... she sounded all kind but now she switched to her serious self...)
"Yeah, Why do you want us here?"

wow,she can get the job done quick.Jamie thought as Meiran just blurted her last remark out.Jamie was getting more and more interestred at her.He hoped she didn't notice him staring at her all the time.

[Ko grins weakly]

Ko: If you want to know what's going on, then you can just follow me ... [Ko walks down a dark corridor, not even checking to see if the kids are following]

Meiran held the officer's gaze.

Meiran wasn't moving until she got some answers. So far, this day'd been the most haphazard and reckless happenstance in her life, and she had an eerie feeling that it was about to get a lot stranger.

Jamie said"Well,we're this far,after you Meiran"hoping to god this wasn't his last day alive.

"Hey, if yu don't answer us, we won't go... we want answers...NOW!"

[Ko continues walking, but he can't hear their footsteps behind him. He knows they aren't following]

Ko (without turning around): You'd better catch up. It's easy to get lost in this place and we've taken very careful measures ... you have no idea where you are ... If you want to stay lost for eternity, then just stand there ...

She heard Jamie, but his easy-going remark didn't help.
Meiran was already on the verge of killing someone earlier.
The feeling had re-surfaced.

Growling, Meiran moved to the side of their "leader" her sword drawn and glistening, a near repeat of the earlier incident with her fellow classmates.
"Look! Gives some inclination of what th' #%^$ is goin' on here! I don't have this because I like th' way it makes th' light flash, mister, and at this point, I really wouldn't regret having to use it."

Kuroi sees Meiran...

He walks to Meirans side...
"Hey, Meiran, let's not make any harsh decisions right now, these guys are professionals... [gives Ko a look of distaste and hate...] it's alright..."

"Meiran,please don't kill the nice man who knows the way out,we all need answers,and we're going to get them"Jamie looked at the guy,and then suddenly got the angriest tone of voice imaginable,it made his facial features change into something menacing."NOW!"he screamed,"Or you're gonna wish that you never heard of James Montgomery Johnson"

[Ko turns around slowly, and in the dark, they could barely make out a smirk]

Ko: Oh, but you would, Miss Meiran. It's not wise to kill a government official; that's assassination. And to kill him on government property? [Ko makes a clicking noise with his tongue] How badly do YOU want to die?

[Ko turns around and continues walking, grinning at her actions, and softly patting his concealed weapon. Suddenly Ko turns and faces Akira]

Ko: Akira, as I said to the kids, follow if you want to find out why they're here ...

[Ko smiles as he hears the soft pat of her feet on the floor. He continues walking, knowing that the other two haven't started following yet]

[Akira got up from the table and turned to leave the cafeteria. He opened the door - and almost ran straight into Ko Hakaisha.]

"Hey Ko, how are you? What are you up to? [He glances over Ko's shoulder] Hey, what are kids doing in here? Wait...there those kids from Jamie's school. And...that's Jamie! [He draws Ko off a bit] Look, I'm your friend, so I'll understand if you can't tell me, but just what are these kids doing in Nerv Headquarters?"

[Ko Hakaisha]

[Ko smirks. He can hear them all following him now]

Ko: Glad you could join us ... The walk's not that far; we should be there in a few minutes. [Ko turns to Akira] Well, follow me and I'd be happy to explain why.

Jamie walks up to Meiran."So what's the plan,Meiran?"

[Hiyoku]

Meiran's cold face returned, a weak smile turning up the corners of her lips. She walked, but she answered Ko's bitter question with a lifeless voice.
"Would I kill a government official? On government property? Depends. Would you want to die here? If not, then yes, I would kill you, here and now. But I won't beause I wanna know why the hell you've interrupted my day, and my bath."
On the last few words, she let her regular easy-going manner slip back. this wasn't worth getting too pissed off about.
Not yet, anyway.
Re-sheathing her sword, she walked between Jamie and Kuroi. If with anyone, she'd never felt so safe and confident.

[Hiyoku]

Sending Jamie a lop-sided grin, she replied jokingly.
"We get somewhere secluded, kill him, an' make a run fer th' border."

Jamie put a hand on Meiran's shoulder."don't worry Meiran,we're just gonna find out why we're here,and then leave,theres nothing to be scared about,remember,i'll protect you".Hoping she didn't notice his hand trembling slightly.

[Ko Hakaisha]

[Ko barely holds back a laugh. He could enjoy this job after all]

Ko: Oh, you'll get a chance for a bath. A nice, private bath, too. Don't worry, young lady.

Kuroi's face changed... he didn't have his carefree happy face anymore... it was replaced by a face that shown anger...
(Why are theses guys so @$^@$%$ calm....)

[Ko turned to his right and opened a small door that led into a pitch black room]

Ko: After you ... [He grinned and held the door open for the kids]

Again, Jamie had said that he'd protect her.
It was a pleasant feeling, knowing that someone cared enough to worry about her.
"Arigatou, Ji-chan. It's nice 'ta know someone cares..really."
Smiling at Kuroi, now, Meiran put her arms around both of their shoulders. "Feels like a team..I already feel safe with th' two 'a you guys, and from now on, my sword will be drawn to protect you."

[Akira walked numbly beside Ko and he and the students exchanged insults. Everything was so confusing. Nothing in this organistion made sense. First the giant robot (or whatever it was)...then the enormous gun...then the intelligence people trailing him...and now this. It made no sense but he had been told that everything would be clear in time. So he would wait...]

As Ko got to the door, Akira became even more uncomfortable.
"Look Ko, you're obviously busy here, and uh, I've got work to do. I'll look you up later, okay. I don't know if I'm classified for this, this is something major I'm guessing."

[Ko grins and walks in and flicks on the light. Standing before them all was a huge robot ... an Evangelion]

[When Ko did not reply, but simply opened the door, Akira became even more nervous. He walked up and glanced over Ko's shoulder...and almost fainted.]

"OH MY GOD!...It's...it's a huge robot! Just like I thought! A huge robot!"

Ko: How do you like it, kids? Isn't it wonderful?

"What is this stuff!"
he noticed that they were standing on a tin bridge over an enormouce room filled with a pink fluid...

"It's some kind of new machine...sort of a bio-warrior. I came across it while I was browsing the NERVnet. It's unbelievable! Ko...should I be here?"

Meiran had to work hard to tear her transfixed gaze away from the giant..robots, as Akira had said.
"Ko...what th' hell does this have to do with us?"

Ko: Well, you three had better go suit up. We need you on the streets in an hour.

This was probably the most interesting day in his life,Jamie asked the million dollar question."Why are we allowed to see it?

[A crash outside is heard, and Ko suddenly appears anxious]

Ko: Alright, let's hurry!! I'm cuttin' you to 45 minutes!

"When do we have to do this?"
Jamie stays silent... trying to piece togethr the many thoughts in his mind...

Cridley woke up in the hospital, there were alarms going off and the "evacuation" Alerts were going off everywhere. People on stretchers were being pushed down the halls by doctors and nurses. Cridley was confused, he remembered vaguely something about evacuation training at school but he couldn't remember any of it. By the time he finished thinking everything was quiet, everyone was gone. Cridley had a bad feeling

[Akira jumps at the loud noise.]

Akira: Ko! What on earth was that! We're so far underground I don't even want to think about what made that noise!

[Ko points to one dressing room]

Ko: Meiran, you get that one ... Jamie, Kuroi, your room is across the hall.

"Screw th' bath, Ko, you're smart."
She practically spat it out, but smiled to give him the good-natured end of the remark.
Her pace quickened slightly with that of Ko's.

Again, she stole glances at Kuroi and Jamie. New friends. New comerades. And this was only the first day..

Cridley gets bounced out of his bed by what felt similar to a small earthquake, he got up and ran outside, the streets were empty aswell. He looked around for anything that looked like an exit of some sort... Another thump but this time he landed on his feet, He got really scared

jamie-"He said to press the button on our left wrist right?"
kuroi-"Yeah, I wonder why... this suits kind of loose..."
They both press the buttons...

[On his way towards the changerooms, Akira spots a computer terminal off to the side and veers toward it.]

Akira: [to himself] Screw it! I've gotta find out whats going on. [he proceeds to go through the system, noting in passing that this terminal already has maximum clearance.]
