ok i got somethin thats botherin me for a while.
i read somewhere that rei might be an angel and when i rewatched the episode with the last angel (cant remember how to spell his name) rei was neutralising the angels at field with her own....whats the deal with this?
anybody got any ideas?
i have a suggestion for the webmaster 2...it would be cool if u had a section on mysteries that discusses some of the questions that arise from the series...what do u reckon?

You're talking about Kaworu/Kaoru ? As I said in post somewhere on this forum, Rei seems to be a combination of Angel DNA (Adam?) and Yui's DNA - or is it she has the soul of Lilith ?
And yes, i am working on an Eva info and mysteries section as well.... I want it to be well organised and easy to understand so I am taking it very slowly.....

and i thought that reis soul was a mix of light and water..or somethin like that.
thats why they used her (or her shell) for the dummyplug.

You must also remember when the 17th angel and the First child first met, He says to her that "You are like me" or something similar. Then we see rei on her bed asking herself how is she like Karou, in what way are he and i alike.

Rei an Angel??

Actually, the proof of Rei's Angel Status is during the scene where Shinji finally catches up to Kaoru. There, Hyuga notices another A.T. Field but it vanishes before he could identify it. That was Rei negating Kaoru's A.T. Field so that Shinji could grab him and, after a rather long pause, pop his tiny little head of his toidy little neck, to quote a game if I will.
But you already know that. How did Rei become an Angel? Well, she didn't really become one, rather, she was always an Angel. Created from what I would guess was DNA from the first Eva's, her DNA was altered to produce not a massive Nephilim (which is what the Eva's are) but rather a human child. My guess as to why they did this was Gendou and his desire to recover his wife, something alluded to in the movies. But what Gendou hadn't counted on was Rei's development of self-conciousness. Poor bastard, gets his hand lopped off and his head bit off all in the same disaster.

Also, in the movie, it becomes clear that Rei is not entirely Human....

We learn from Gendo that Rei is made up from Lilith, and Yui's soul (Which is why he seemed to favour her). Rei is the instrument Gendo intended to use to reunite himself with his wife. But Rei merges with Lilith to become the Angel who brings about the Third impact

Rei is made up of Yui and Lilith's DNA, not Yui's soul (white like Lilith, but looks like Yui). Gendo was going to use Instrimentality to unite with Rei, who then would unite Lilith, who would then unite with Evangelion Shogoki.
Rei is not an Angel, at best, she's half-Angel, half-human. Since she shares 1/2 of her genes with Shinji's mother, that would make Rei Shinji's 1/2 sister.
The above is not my interpretation, it's quite factual.

I have heard from many sources that Rei is actually an angel by the name of Lilin, but i have also heard that she is made up of Yui aswell...If Rei is made from lilith, im not too sure but this is what i have heard, wouldnt she have been use for the Human complementation thingy?

o.k. Lilith doesn't appear in the bible. but in Jewish folklore she comes up a bit.
So here goes.....
So you know the basic story of Genesis right? Adam was created out of Earth by God. He later created Eve (Eva in German!) from one of Adam's ribs. Now in some folklore Lilith came before Eve and was created from the earth in the same way as Adam. The problem was, she didn't want to be "subordinate" to Adam (please no feminist comments....) and she ran away. At Adams request God sent three angels after her. They told her that if she did not submit to Adam, one of her children would die every day. She refused..........
now, according to the Red Cross Book (sorry Jake :P) the Lilin or Lil-In where the children born between Adam and Lilith. they were supposedly demons. I don't know if the Lil-In and the lilim are diffrent things. My guess is that the Lil-In refer to the angels and the lilim refer to humans. But it's open to speculation
