Who is the second angel?

Who is the second angel? The first is Adam, then the angels start at 3 to 17 we know, but who is the second? I think that it is Rei, but i'm just guessing due to her AT field.

at first they tell you that the first angel is adam but he actually turns out to be the second.so the first has to be lilith because thats what they say in the movie.

i don't think rei is an angel but she is part of one.


and one more thing,did anyone know that rei's name means "soul" in japanese.

Well, rei means lots of things in Japanese. Though, I only know of spirit and zero as translations, both of which fit the character. ^_^;;

Oh, and either Lilith or Adam would be the second angel. I remember from the old board, a big debate on whether Adam was first or second, can't remember if it was ever resolved though.

well, we had this conversation w/ Access and he convinced me that the second angel was Adam - "since religious references should not be used in eva and eva is not a religious anime". so basically, the method of classifying the angels would fall under their appearance/discovery.

as for Rei, well, she cannot be considered as the first angel - though her soul be that of lilith and she is similar to Kaworu who on the other hand has Adam's soul.

No where in the movie do they say that Adam is the second angel, and access is still to convince me, so i would have to say adam is the first, Lilith the second

If my memory serves me right, by the end of our discussion we agreed that Adam and Lilith were spawned together, so there is no second angel.

but he might have changed back recently.

Pen Pen is the Second Angel! In ep. 24, right, you see Misato looking at the ruins of Tokyo-3, right? What's the _only_ building left standing? Misato's apartment, right? So...Pen Pen blocked the explosion with his A.T. Field, therefore proving he's an Angel. Also, what else you eat Misato's cooking, day in, day out? See? See? Pen Pen is the real Second Angel!

Well, if people don't think it's Lillith (I'm one of them, even though she's commonly classed as the Second), then it's got to be someone. And seeing as Pen Pen has no real active role in the series, he's now the Second Angel...according to me at least.
