Trigun maximum a sequel in the making?

I read about it in animerica and it said "Vash and Wolfwood pictured here will return in Trigun maximum!"

Trigun Maximum is actually the name of the manga and not an anime sequel. The manga that the Trigun anime is based on is actually two parts, Trigun and its sequel Trigun Maximum. In terms of the anime storyline Trigun Maximum starts roughly when Vash starts battling the Gun-Ho Guns. So both mangas are represented in the anime.

People sometimes confuse Trigun Maximum as an anime sequel, when in fact it is simply the latter half of the 26 episode anime. A sequel to Trigun is about as likely as a sequel to Bebop or Eva, basicly I don't see it happening. I love the series to death, and I wish it would go on forever, but as a real world fact, all good things must come to an end.

Actually, Trigun Maximum goes beyond the TV series. Maximum is still going and has 3 more Gung-Ho Guns than TV (I believe) and the ending of the two will most probably differ.

Trigun barely follows the manga in the end. ^_^
