Ok, ne1 else seen this anime? Well it's the STRANGEST anime I have ever seen. I mean it's very very odd. It has great animation and is disturbing, VERY VERY disturbing. You HAVE to see it, to see how wacked it is.

Ok, watching episode 2 and for some ODD reason people keep disapearing!!!

I finally saw all 6 episodes, and all 6 are really way out there! Episode 5 is really funny though. They make fun of S....umm...I won't spoil it, but if you can stand to watch anymore episodes, watch the 5th one!

It's also known as Furi-Kuri... L's and R's are indistinguishable in Japanese so if you say FLCL really fast it sounds like Furi-Kuri...

Anyways, I agree that FLCL is one of the strangest anime series I have seen... I still think Excel Saga is much wierder though...

I love FLCL. I don't care if I don't know what's going on about 50% of the time,I lve it anyway. The animation's great, the music rocks, and I like Sadamoto's character designs.

see you space cowboys.

FLCL.... how do you describe it in words..... Virtual Acid. Hum thats a good thing to describe the experience. Neways FLCL (Furi Kuri) is hands down my favorite anime series. Pretty weird eh? I love the series and if you watch closely there are a lot of things you will miss the initial time through but it makes sense after another time through. I watch the series at least once a week and i love every minute of it. It's a great series and i would recommend it to anyone :)

FLCL just finished last month. The series never aired on television and was distributed in japan on vhs and dvd. DVDs 2-6 have english subtitles on them and dvd 1 is strictly japanese.

That's all right death. The Japanese translators clearly don't understand English very well. It's comprehensible, barely. I've seen all six episodes, but I'll need to buy them when they're released domestically to actually know what happens. Even so it's pretty good. Great animation, really good soundtrack, and I likes the character designs very much. Didn't know they were Sadamoto's worrk, though. One warning: it is extremely fast paced. That's part of what makes it so trippy. It's probably the 2nd best 'normal' series Gainax has done. If 'normal' can even be written within a mile of FLCL.

(2nd best? I still like Nadia better. :p )

This is one of favs. I love it how it starts so serious and then decends into weirdness.

I thought the translators did a good job with it IMO.

(And death I'll hook you up with it on Sat if you go to UTAS)

:goof:
I just watched the first 3 eps....I am truely speechless. Never before have I seen something like this. It's hilarious, it's got great art and super-smooth animation, and the most bizzare plot (is there one?!?!?!!) and characters. This kicks Lain's ass in terms of insanity. I want to see more!!!

"There's nothing amazing...just normal." Yeah, right!

If you want to see some pure insanity, watch some Excel Saga! It's crazier than FLCL IMO. :D:D

Has it been released in the US? I don't think I've seen it at the local rental place I go to...

Currently it's only available in Japan, it is also available on Gainax's website. The first DVD isn't subbed in English but the rest are. There is supposed to be a movie, but I think it has been cancelled.

Well, I finally finished it! :D
Enjoyed it enough to change my long-running Vash avatar. The most engaging OVA I've ever seen....better than Samurai X, Tenchi Muyo!, and Record of Lodoss War, in my opinion. I will be waiting impatiently for the DVDs to come out.

As for what it's about...the GAINAX (http://www.gainax.co.jp/flcl/index-e.html) website presents it better than I ever could.
