Who here thinks the ending of EVA sucked?

I downloaded every single episode of EVA (1 gig) and watched them all! It was really great, exept for the last 1/4 of it.

I cant belive what happend, it just became a huge conspiricy, every one dies in a bloody mess, and the 3rd impact happens twice! also remember rei? eww! A few 'parts' were missing.....

Oh well, it was a really great series, but the ending was abysmal.... everyone died, and there was blood everyware.... :vomit:

i agree that eoe was very abysmal and bloody and damn disturbing too. i know a guy who cried the first time he watched it :bawling: but he also says that "its like crack" you can't stop watching it. it may be horrific at points, but its good. and it has a deep, disturbing message, which was really what eva was all about :p

first of all, Cybertron, cool name! (my opinion of course - and im biased bec. of Transformers) :D

anyway, EoE didnt suck... it was great - very heavy, very dark, very interesting, very addictive, etc. (i could go on and on about EoE but i'd rather not) - but then again... that's personal preference :D

Well unfortunately, I've yet to see the movies, but I have seen the last two TV episodes. The first time I saw them I was confused and disappointed. But having watched them again, I really enjoyed them and think it does make a lot of sense on some levels. Course, I still want to see the movies...

i have heard many times that the movies are coming out during the first 1/4 of 2001.and i heard that the movies will be released in a special DVD boxset.i hope that there is an interveiw with Anno in it.
the movies will probably get a limited Art house run in theaters.i can't wait to see what the movie reveiwers in the morning paper will think of it.hehehehehehe.


anyway,i don't think that the end of Eva sucked.i didn't like it much at first either,but after about 30 viewings or so i started to understand it and enjoy it alot.

i can't seem to get enough of the Eva movies and t.v series and i agree that they are extremely addictive.

First of all, Cybertron, where did you download the movies from!? I would sell my soul for all 26 Eva episodes on my hard drive. If you or anyone else knows, PLEASE TELL ME!

Anyway...

The ending was weird as all hell for the series. I thought it was kinda cool 'cause I saw it in a dark room late at night...possibly the closest thing one can get to tripping without the use of an illiegal substance. :D I haven't seen the films yet, but from what I hear, the end is a bit depressing...but it's also up to your own inperpretation as to what the fine details are of what happened. That's whats so good abut Eva compared to so many other movies/series: the viewer isn't hand-fed all the information he/she needs to understand everything.

well, it did say that instrumentality was occuring, so it is understood that third impact did take place.

the tv eps 25-26 showed what was happening during instrumentality whereas EoE shows what happened before, during, and after third impact

I didn't think the ending of the movie sucked... it was more of... What? what next?!!! what the--- reaction from me. Then a friend explained to me that the people behind the series did it that way to get the people watching to go back to their own reality and make them realize that Evangelion is a whole different world. The ending was sort of a wake up call saying "so wacha gonna do with your life?" sort of thing...

I loved the ending, absolutely loved it. Of course, had we seen the movies as well, it probably would have made more sense. In the movies, there's all the fighting, gore and weird ---- that made the series so amazing.

However, in genesis 0:13, I love it because Shinji is deciding that he is worthy of living. And (for some reason), just because the third pilot is willing to live, everyone else gets to live too (yay). I really loved all the philosophical discussion in the last two episodes (because I love all that kind of stuff) and it made a deep series into a truly deep and emotional one.

I guess at first the lack of any ending or any explanation in the last two episodes kinda sucked, but it's still a decent ending. Just that we missed a major part of the explanation.

*Sigh* Can't wait until beginning of next year (when the movies COME OUT HERE)
