the most shocking moment in EOE

I DON'T think this has been posted before.

i thought the most shocking moment was when shinji saw the destroyed remains of unit-o2 and screemed bloody murder.

yes, i remember that part...

he see's the remains, which are flashed kind'a fast and then he screams - yeah, one of those really good scenes which cannot be described with words, your just... stunned, speechless...

(but ofcourse the reaction wouldnt apply to the dub - i hate the way he screams in that set :mad: )

To me, the most shocking scene in EoE is where Rei rejects Gendo...Imagine it REI REJECTING GENDO!!!! Not shocking in the violence sense, but definately shocking in its unexpectedness...

Personally it wasn't unexpected to me, as the preceding events were leading to that separation between Rei and Gendo. The events I talk about are those she experiences with Shinji. An example would be the incident when Rei walks in to her apartment and sees Touji and Shinji in their and the apartment has been cleaned. Shinji says he that he cleaned it up because he thought it was rubbish, Rei then says thank you. When they are gone Rei comments on how she had used words of gratitude, words she hadn't used before and then looks at Gendous glasses and says not even with him. It is things like this that made me expect Rei to walk away from Gendo and go to Shinji.

yes it was kind of shocking as well - in a different sense of course though they were already leading to that part in the later parts of the series. Rei knew she was expendable, and she was being used. who wouldnt get angry with that knowledge

it is the scene where Shinji screams w/c left more of an impression in my mind than Rei betraying Gendou

how about the part in episode 26 of the movie where shinji starts choking asuka in the apartment.

i thought that was pretty unexpected and shocking also.
i mean that scene came out of nowhere.

yes that was shocking as well but nothing close to the fact that your sitting in your couch, no lights, suddenly you see flashing scenes of a ripped apart eva and then the sound of Shinji screaming - as i said, no words can describe the feeling you get form it! :D

I have to agree with ryezen, that ripped apart eva scene is the most shocking in the series.

I also thought the Rei rejection of G scene was shocking. Mostly because of the emotional response from Gendo, who all through the rest of the series was as cold and rigid as an ice block, even when the drama was at its peak- eg Eva U1's arm blown off by Zuruel spattering G with blood who does not even flinch.

To see Gendo strained is shocking, because it is rare.

Apart from that, I thought the Asuka's scream after the lance peircing is always a shock to watch.

Yeah, gotta agree with the Eva series tearing apart and eating Unit 02 is the worse and shocking part of the whole series.


Although, I thought that when Unit 01 pulverizes Unit 03 was pretty shocking as well. Well . . . . more gross than shocking. :(

the most shocking part for me was that episode where unit 01 went berserk and ate the angel and made Maya throw up where everyone else followed... i got nightmares after watching that... then later on i never got sick watching it... then again.. i'm a really sick person...

Yeah, I agree with Nairohe, the episode where eva 01's arm gets ripped off. Then after it runs out of power, it comes back to life and starts laying into the angel.

THEN, when he rips a piece of the angel off, and grows a HUMAN arm on himself, that was just the psychoist psyhco thing that ever psycho-happened.

Then he starts eating the angel, and yeah, that was pretty psycho too.
