I keep wondering how the girls and Keitaro can afford a place like this!
None of them has a stable job and I don't the japanese government gives them enough, with all the feasts they have and for all the times they went on wild adventures.
And it's a real palace!I counted there are at least at least 12 rooms.I saw 2 living rooms and the kitchen is kinda big.Just from the outside a tourist could swear it's a japanese temple or manor.
Too bad it's a girls's dormitory,i'd really like to live there :)
Well it's pretty simple really, Keitaro's grand mother must own the place out right so all she would need is the rent to up keep the place.
The rent would come from each of the girls and I'm sure their parents give them a monthly allowance for the rent.
I dunno what the exchange rate for elephant notes is, cause that's what Kaolla Su uses to pay for rent, and they seem to accept it :)

Well, most've the time, parents pay for rent, ne? I bet the parents just send them a couple hundred every few months to pay for the rent. ^^

Parents paying rent would be account for some of them.... but not Kaolla.... how does she seriously pay for rent? Maybe she does it with her unique flare of cooking? Or maybe something computer related?
Theres also Shinobu.... kawaii :D but anyways, her parents had a divorce and they had to move because of money issues.... so how is it she is able to stay? who is paying for her rent???
What does Mitsune do? She doesn't go to school from what i can tell from the series.... she doesn't appear to work as well.... all she appears to do is drink.
and thats my two cents. :heh:

Kitsune gets a lot of jobs at bars. ^^ It allows her to hit on guys 'n get free drinks. ^^
Shinobu? I think her parents still pay, an' the same for Kaolla. Granted, it's a little harder for those two, but ...

I don't remember seeing Kitsune anywhere near a bar.Sure she gets her dose of sake everyday but she enever mentionned working at a bar.
But isn't Kaolla sort of royalty?Prince Ranba Ruu being her half-brother or something like that.

Nope, Kitsune works at a bar. ^^ I remember one scene in the manga when Keitarou stumbles into one (trying to escape from Naru, if memory serves correctly). Keitarou sees Kitsune sitting at the counter wearing an apron an' asks her. She says she works here this week, an' was thinkin' about the bar across the street next week. ^^

I remember that. Keitarou did something stupid an' made Naru lose her job. ^^

nice question!!
i agree with that... Keitaro's Grandma owns the place and the girls all have to do is to pay the rent to keep up the place..
but i really don't think Shinobu maybe her parents send her some money to pay the rent or she only cooks to pay the rent!!!

I think both of Shinobu's parents would support her financially, for though a tragic many divide established families over personal grudges, only a thankfully few would be monstrous and inhumane enough to discontinue loving their children after a divorce. Take Shinobu's father, who as a Taxi driver still looks out for his daughter despite her being distanced from him by his conflicts with her mother.
