Did anybody go to otakon anime convention in baltimore, usa? My cousin went, she enjoyed it. She recommended Kare Kano, supposedly by the producer of Evangelion-anybody know anything about it? In any case, I am extremely jealous of her...

KareKano (also known as Kareshi kanojo no jijyo or His and Hers Circumstances) was a Gainax production that started out being directed by Anno (but I believe he did not do the entire series).

It's basically a shoujo anime about two model students who meet each other at school, form a relationship and start learning to express their true selves. There's a fair bit of humour in there as well and it's an enjoyable show.

The artwork and direction is VERY Gainax...particularly the opening sequence and the rather excessive use of still shots (for that reason you couldn't really say it was great animation, it's more like what animation? ^^;;) I'd recommend the series as being worth a watch, but don't go watching it expecting another Eva, this is a completely different genre. It's been licensed by The Right Stuff and I think the first video is due out early 2001.

Yeah His and Her circumstances is pretty good. I can't really relate to it though, probably being from my family background. I know that it is highly exhaggerated but man they fuss over some very stupid things... I could notice the touch of Anno on it though,
