AKIRA digitally remastered THX theatre release

anyone hear any information on this? last i heard, Orion was trying to get it to be one of the first Anime Films to have a world wide theatre release.

anyone know any information on this? any on how possible it is that Orion may get their wish?

i think it would be grately appropriate for Akira to take this name.

well it's not the Theatre release but i know some place in Adelaide that sells the republished Akira graphic novels in Japanese,excellent buy if you could read it.

Akira is certainly deserving of the honor, but the odds of it getting a widespread commercial release are about zero. Sad but true. If I get lucky it might show up in a few theatres near me which mostly show arthouse style stuff. Other than that, no. Someday we will see anime with an interrnational release, but the time is not yet right and Akira is not the movie that will change it.
