Think of glomping as obsessive hugging ^_^; like when ya seee someone cosplayin one of yer favorite characters _really_ well and you clamp yer arms around them and won't let go ^_^;

Yep, that's what it means. It's usually used as a sound effect in manga, really. I've seen it often in my Ranma stuff, and occasionally in the Love Hina graphic novels. ^^
