i personally found the site "thought experiments lain" definitely full of the most well researched theories of Serial Experiments Lain so i decided to create threads discussing Lawrence Eng's wonderfull descriptions on different topics. i would add my opinions, but there's not much for me to add seeing as he himself has pin-pointed my own personal theories on the series to almost perfection. where i disagree i will make note, and i will add additional opinions as time goes on.

Schumann Resonance

Put very simply, the resonance frequencies of the Earth's electromagnetic field as measured by W.O. Schumann. 7.83 Hz (which is an average of several measurements) is the figure most often cited as the fundamental (base) Schumann Resonance frequency in that electromagnetic waves of that frequency can propagate extremely quickly with little attenuation around the planet within what is known as the Schumann Cavity (a thin membrane of non-conductive air between the surface of the planet and the ionosphere). Schumann Resonance frequencies fall in the range of 6-50 Hz.

Interpretation:

It may of particular interest to note that Nikola Tesla, who first observed the existence of what would later be called Schumann Resonance, theorized that it could be used for "... power transmission and transmission of intelligible messages to any point on the globe." In other words, a wireless system of energy transmission.

"So astounding are the facts in this connection, that it would seem as though the Creator, himself had electrically designed this planet...." -- Nikola Tesla describing what is now known as Schumann Resonance (7.8 Hz) in "The Transmission of Electrical Energy Without Wires As A Means Of Furthering World Peace", Electrical World And Engineer, January 7, 1905, PP 21-24.

An energy/data network that can be reached by everyone. You'd need energy because nothing can run without energy...the "ascended lains" would need something to run Protocol 7, and that (regardless of what it is) would need something to power it. It's perfect...a very advanced and much more capable version of a system emerging in Germany and other countries where your Net access comes through your power lines.

If Tesla was impressed, I am very impressed...

and we would be that energy.

you get enough humans together and we will create a massive amount of energy... bringing us back around to the Earth EMP theory.

very impressed indeed

I've read a couple of books on this resonance, can't remember titles at this moment, interesting stuff indeed. I wonder just how attuned man is to these frequencies and how this theory points to a possible form of collective intelligence. The neural net of the Earth, or perhaps the pulse.

I saw on some website were you could listen to the pulse of the Sun, it makes music, not great music but music none the less. Pretty cool.

you must share if you recall what website you found that at

The idea of the world of Lain coming into being is a pretty big head trip, but the Schumann Resonance is fascinating. Makes me think of a gigantic antlike colony of humans, just working together with meshed together minds; or about those cool eye-thigs the Men in Black wear ;)

Wow kiljoy...you dont know how deep that was to me. :jdrop:

It rings so true...the ant thing, going to work, life.

Here you go Heart Havok, I'm sure they have it elsewhere but at this site they have 30 sec. - 90 sec. downloads.
