Has anyone else read the manga?

Well? I've only read it. I would like to see the anime. but I like the style in the manga a little more. Is it any good?

The anime is excellent. ^^ I highly recommend it, especially if you liked the manga.

I've read vols 1-14 of the manga, & it's very funny, but I've only seen a small part of the anime series, so I can't give you a camparison really...,
My complaints about the manga series are that it can be quite repetitive & tedious in places, & Viz Communication is taking too long in publishing them..., :D

I've read the mangas and seen the movies, but I think the mangas are better!
But maybe the series is better! :)

Well, I've only read volumes 1-7 and 10, so I'm not as well-read as Eva fiend, but I'm much more well-watched. ^^ I'd say they are equally good, because they each have little one ep/issue things that are incredibly funny but don't change the plot ... You should really go for both. ^^

The manga is better, even though the anime was great. The thing is, after the first season Takahashi-samma lost creative control so the animation for the series just totally went to ----. the OAV's and movies do have much nicer animation, but they don't go along with the manga. I'd say get everything Ranma :p

Heh.. I agree with Asuza-chan on the get all Ranma part.. I haven't been able to get any of the anime *mutters evil curses about anime not being brought into Finland* but I do have volumes 1-17 of the manga.. :) and I love them...

Yeah, Viz is slow and stupid and they charge too much money for two measly episodes. I just record Ranma off Mexican TV :lol:

The Manga's definitely better, but the TV series is good on account of its being in COLOR...

I really liked the anime, but the comics were almost better. I have quite a few of the japanese and some of the one's still to come out are really cool. Unfortunately they don't have Akari-chan in the anime (although it'd be a shame to know that there was a dubbed version of her) she's a really cool character! The movies are pretty cool though.

That's how I found out about Ranma, manga's better the anime is too short and doesn't explain much, dubbing is BAD specially on Ranma, well, it's JUST ranma

Heheh, I got tired of waiting for the translations ... ended up locating some scanned Japanese Ranma 1/2 manga :)

(and yes, I'm still purchasing the graphic novels as they come out, even though I've already read 'em, that's part of the fansub ethic ;))

The manga is better than the series, but both are really great :) Can't go wrong with Ranma! (I love my Akane winamp skin :D)

I think most of you are referring to the Viz Graphic novels as "manga." manga is a Japanese comic.
I've read 20, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33, ah I can't remember them all 36, I think, of the manga.
I like the anime, I always watch it subbed, too bad Viz messes up the translations so much... and it's too bad that the dubbing is so terrible...

I like the Viz Graphic Novels much better than the anime, but then again, I haven't been able to rent the anime subtitled--so I guess the anime got off to a bad start in my mind (Ranma's voice... ugh). However, the written work seems to be funnier anyway--especially when Soun does his "big head" trick :lol:

I read Vol. 1-19 so far! It's great!
My first Manga Vol. was 13! That's how I was hooked into it!
