I'm just wanting to know whether or not that Viz video might have edited Ranma a bit? I don't think they have, but. I have not seen the sub, and even still, I don't know whether or not they might have gone and change that too. I know that Pioneer had tone down some of the translation so that younger viewers could watch Tenchi Muyo and that Viz might have done this to Ranma.

Nah, not from what I've seen. They kept Ranma pretty accurate translation from what I know of Japanese and seen of the subs.

Pretty close, I'm sure. I've heard that the dub was excellent, but there are a few outspoken individuals here who seem to think otherwise.
My opinions:
Viz changed the dialogue a LOT in the dub. They always dumb it down. Example: (wrong forum I know) but, Card captor sakura dubbed: age 13 and under. CCS subbed: age 13 and up. (yeah YEAH I know, Viz didn't do CCS, but I couldn't think up another example, k?)
Whenever an anime is dubbed it is made to seem more simple, because they have to make it fit in the right time which is difficult, apparently. But sometimes Viz's "translations" are very, VERY wrong.
I guess I'm one of the "outspoken individuals" who HATES dubbing and thinks it should BURN with all the rest of the evil and wrongness in this world.
I also bear personal malice towards Viz Communications. (They ruined Ranma1/2! Now they're ruining Inuyasha!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :bawling:
waaaaaa, baka yarou.... VIZ ha bakabakashii dayo...
