View Full Version : Lina's Breast are NOT too small!
Yes I thought it was about time a honest guy came forth.
We all know the anime world likes to make "beautiful" characters. However I think Lina is great because, when you think about it, she is preportioned the way she should be.
Naga on the other hand...I wonder if she has back troubles, lol. I seen Slayers (the movie) with a lady friend one time. I wasnt sure if she would like it at all. Because well one you have Naga, strutting around in almost nothing, flaunting her "well rounded" attributes. Then you also have Lina, and the constant "small breast" jokes surrounding her.
I thought...huh I wonder if she thinks this is a biased and sexist show, cus to be honest sitting there with her watching it I almost wondered if I was gonna get into major trouble. She laughed her arse off! Boy did that surprise me, she said that Slayers was like watching one of her silly articles from YM, or some other chick magazine, come to life.
Come to find out, but visiting a couple sites and gettin some info, that the fan base of Slayers does have quite a few females and I wonder if this it isnt because that even though women act all upright and proper when it come to discussions of a sexual nature, that they joke and tease as much as guys do :P

well ...lina isn't flat chested (enough to see her preform the dragu slave chant to see that) ....but in comparison to the other females cast ...her bust size is smaller...

Lina's breasts are normal, they're not THAT small, they are small if you compare them with the other anime girls.

When it comes right down to the crunch, Lina has the best body in the Slayers cast. She is by no means voloptuous like say, Naga, Martina, Filia or even Amelia.
However, whereas the bodies of the above women are immeadietly gratifying in a carnal sense, Lina is well poportioned. She is round, curved, big, and small in ALL the right places. She has a down to earth normality that is at the same time innocent and sensual.
Lina is the most physically charming girl of the Slayers Universe because she is shaped JUST right.
I think someone really likes Lina ;)
You go Ronin, lol.

True, Neojin. Were it not for her temper, Lina Inverse would be one of the most intelligent, charming and mature women on TV, animated or otherwise.

Um charming ? Lina only turns on the charm when she's trying to get something from somebody or owes somebody a debt she's trying to get out of. She is very intelligent although not overly wise some of the time.
My guess on her appearance in the anime is that the animators were told "Make her breasts small" and responded with blank stares and confused looks. An anime female who is a lead character and not stacked ? I suspect they just couldn't get their brain around it and settled for a Lina with slightly below average breast size.
Keep in mind that Slayers started off in novel format, not manga or anime.
Lol, I loved that part where Gourry and Lina are together in that barn in episode 7 I think and Lina explains to Gourry about that pure bred monster. Gourry pisses Lina off and she starts wrestling him, then he says "I know one thing for sure now, you don't have any breasts at all."
Can someone tell me if they have transcripts of the novels online?

Well I guess after watching so much anime, one would expect a minimum in bust size
Seriously, this is a comedy anime. She has already a wide arsenal of all-powerful spells and a fiery character to match. They had to give her some bad points.
And besides,if you want an anime with female showing generous cleavage there`s plenty of those elsewhere.

i don't think lina's bust size is small, it's the right size for a normal human being, but way too small comparing to other anime ladies, one of the reason i like lina, she have a nice body

Don't confuse how she is drawn with how she is perceived. She looks feminine because the artists need to make it clear she is a female. As a result she is drawn as having breasts.
However if you listen to Gourry's occasional comments about her breasts it is clear that from the perception of the inhabitants of her world she has an almost flat chest.

Thank goodness!! At least I'm now not the only one who thinks that petite chicks are more natural and hence more shagadelic than "Pamela Anderson" types ever will be.
Whew, I'm not a freak after all!!
Well it makes since, most Jgirls are serriously lacking in certain areas...but they are more than beautiful and hot in their own senuous and seductive ways.../droool oh sorry bout that lol.
I'm not a real big guy, 6' 170 so yeah I sorta prefer a gal who is smaller than me for many reasons. There is the security feelings of a woman not being larger than me and also the cute factor... When I see a couple and the woman is taller then the Man or looks like she could kick his ass, I tend to see that rather than how cute the couple might actualy be together.
Is this fasicious?

Maybe its a trend that is exclusively Melbournian, but there are literally about over 50 girls in Melbourne University who are over 180 cms tall, and they are all inveriably the prettiest, smartest, AND nicest people I have ever met.
Size, vertically, horizontally or circumphrance wise DO NOT matter when you are out looking for your soul mate!! As long as she is a kind hearted person who is really nice and considerate to people, minor thorns like appearance and the occasional tantrum are really inconsequential. Those positive qualities is what makes me really LOVE Lina and Stungun Milly (of Trigun), two women of POLAR height differentiation.
And no, I'm not being hypocritical to my previous posts. These tall, beautiful girls are more often than not as flat (if not flatter) than Lina.

Lina is just fine the way she is! In real life she would generally be percieved as an average girl. But yes, on anime, they do tend to bend reality a little...
And about that other thing, I tottaly agree! i'm tall, taller than most of the guys I know, sure they complain, but it doesn't make a difference! it's what's inside that really matters (as countless movies, books, etc. have clearly explained). But I do wish they'd shut up about it!!! (although I do enjoy making them feel small and unimportant sometimes) *hehe*
On the being tall subject...I wear shoes with big heels, not because I want to look taller, but because they are comfy. But because I wear them, when I take them off, I'm acctually one of the shortest pplz in my class and that surprized everybody. As for Lina's bust size, I think it's bad that people (there real!--REAL DAMMIT!) like Gourry are in this world wear the steriotyped bust size is twice as big then normal, so Gourry thinks it abnormal for girls to have normal bust sizes. Ah, poor Gourry. He just doesnt understand anything. But, I guess no one else does either, including Lina because they all think normal is too small. darn.

It is pleasing to see that tall women/girls are now gaining a steady and widespread acceptance in our modern society, and are only the objects of ridicule to ignorant misoginistic baboons.
If only this were the case with vertically challenged, "midget garden gnome" guys who are not AT LEAST 6 (180cm) feet tall!!
(I'm only 5 foot eight inches (170cm) tall. Sniff... Weep.....)
(Sigh...) Oh Well, can't have everything.
Good Night, everybody.

Heh, that's about how tall i am...but of course some of the guys still haven't had that "spirt" yet...I hope to get taller though...maybe even taller than my sister, who's 5' 9"...GRRRRRRRR... It bugs me, she totally takes advantage of "looming" over everyone...GRRRRRR...

He's right, Lina's breasts aren't too small. I mean seriously. When you take a look at Naga and then at Lina ok, there is a MAJOR difference.:o

Well, it can probably be theorised that:
1) The sheer amount of physical movements and gestures would strategically alter, and hence tighten the fabric of Lina's clothing in certain areas.
Or
2) Just as the Saiyajin glow when they are gathering combat energy, the mammery glands of the "Slayers" Universe sorceresses swell as mystical forces gather there before its catharcic release as attack energy.
Perhaps the strain upon the breasts of powerful "combat" sorceresses is such that development is equally inhibited in this manner.
(Man, I have too much time on my hands...)
This is beginning to turn into an in-ter-esting conversaion...hmm?

Ah, the life of a Film Student, where for ONCE watching TV and Movies is not slacking off, but considered work.
Watching as much anime as you like is therefore considered the actions of a hard working and diligent student.
Hence any time outside watching/reading media, the imagination is allowed to run uninhibited in directions that normal men were never meant to tread.
Sigh....
Life has been good to me.

but it is nice to know that some people don't care about how big your bust is...
I enjoy being female. I like manupulating guys. Mwa ha haaa...
I agree, Falinah, I think it would be horrible to be somewhere or in some situation where you were judged by how big your bust is? I swear I would die if we lived in a world that was like that. *bursts out in to song singing "Supermodels" by Kendall Payne*

Well, the internet IS (ideally) a gender exclusive enviroment, so it would be the ideal enviroment of discussing gender related issues as the embarrasment of doing it face to face is signifigantly lessened.
And yes, "silicon enhanced sluts" are about as attractive as roadkill left to rot and swell in a humid summer.
how is the internet a gender exclusive environment? explain please.

On the internet, one exists not as an individual defined by his or her physiology, but rather by his or her ideals, which exist mutually exclusive from it.

aah...yeah, and people are unable to judge you by how you look, or how old you are, or race...etc...not that they would, but some people might...and I tottaly say no matter how "imperfect" you are plastic surgery is NOT the answer, especially to enhace your breast size...the only time I feel that plastic surgery is ok, is when maybe they were in a terrible accident and feel really horrible and depressed, or something like that...

"the only time I feel that plastic surgery is ok, is when maybe they were in a terrible accident and feel really horrible and depressed, or something like that..."
Right On, Ms Falinah!! On a similar matter, the technology of cybernetics and genetic engineering have been relentlessly persecuted by the self righteous Catholic Church because they would "go further to enhance man's vanity."
Well, so long as they are to be used to give amputees, the blind or infertile parents a chance at leading healthy and productive lives, and not to create super soldiers that would wreck more misery on this world (or for that matter, disgustingly perfect men/women), it these forms of technology should be embraced wholeheartedly as habrigners of a new utopian age of equality.

Who is Harrison Bergeron?

it's this one story...kinda depressing...about a world where every one has to be the same. People who are smart have to have handicaps to make them "equal" to those who aren't etc. in the end the person dies....
What story is that? OH, another sad story about everybody being the same is The Giver. And in that book they die too. It was a very well writen book.
