Yes! I had the idea of doing a poll like this for a little time, and now the subject has been brought up in another thread, so I thought of doing it now ^^

but it's not only "which type of magic do you prefer", it's which specific spell is your fave ^^

You have the name, the type and who uses that spell in the poll list. you have the choice between 33 of them. if your fave isn't there, please tell me, I'll add it to the list, there's still 2 free spot ^^

I just hope it's not the spell I'm thinking that gonna win ^^; hehe

Mmm, I don't have to tell you what my fave spell is, right? Yep, it's the famous Dragon Slave! I just love this spell, it's speed, it's power and the fact that it's a black magic spell. :lol:

This is a great poll, but there are complications since everyone chooses to romanize the spells in a different way. I know Japanese doesn't distinguish between 'L' and 'R' sounds, but please change it to Ragna blade, Usagi. Please? Laguna blade just doesn't sound right...

Say, shouldn't Ray wing be on there? They seem to use that one a lot. Oh yes, I had to choose Giga Slave. It just looks so dang neat at the end of NEXT!

thanks Fireguy. but I already have the list of spells, with a description of it and all... but in french ^^ but I could only put 30 of them... I took the ones I thought important, so I ended up with 36 ¬¬; so I cut again and managed to have 28. I didn't knew which 2 of the remaining spells people would like, so I kept those spaces as a security ^^ I'll had one if someone requests it... 'cause I don't want to add 2, and then a person requests another one ^^;

Ura, you are right it has something to do with Zelgadis's sword but I believe Astral Vine is actually a spell to enhance the swords effects on the opponent he is facing. So in effect Astral Vine is probably a power up spell for his sword, I could be wrong though.

How can you not love this thing, not only is it extremely powerful it also has the coolest animation out of all the spells. It didn't look to cool in the beginning but then they changed the animation for it in "Next" and it got a much cooler look. I also like Sleeping spells just because they would come in real handy on those sleepless nights.

Actually, psycnarf, that just made me think . . . Does Xelloss even use any spells?? Cos now that i think about it, all he ever does is hold up his staff, and the spells just come tumbling out, with no chanting or calling of the spell name like the other characters. . . at any rate, I'm probably just wrong, but I still can't remember a single time when Xelloss cast a spell . . . hmmm, better go watch the whole Slayers series again, just in case. . . :D

Well,if we stay in the Slayers universe Freeze Arrow does almost no damage to veteran fighters and wizards.I never recall seeing Flare Arrow or Freeze Arrow doing any significant damage in the series I've seen(Original,Next,Explosion Array,Try).

That's all I really here, the most popular spell is usually the dorangon suriebu, but there are a lot of other cool spells

The un-familier (for people who haven't seen SLAYERS NEXT *SPOILER*) Laguuna Buriedo is a very cool spell, plus it's more powerful than the Dorangon Suriebu

Your usual Fireball is cool, uses a bit of magic, but kicks @$$.

Mostly any Shamist attack is considered "cool"

White Magic's best spell is probably Hory Buressu (holy bless)

and there are many more....:D

Like Darklitz said, freeze arrow is a weaker spell and would have nothing when Lina usually puts up a Balis Wall of a Wind Barrier against herself. The Dragon Slave doesn't have to be incarnated, and it can be shortened:

You mean the Laguna Blade? I don't know why Software Sculpters decide to translate it into Ragna blade, but you know the "L" and the "R" in Japan are quite similar. To a resemblance, I like the OVA spells better like "Explosion Array" and "Blam Blazer." Too bad those had to be changed to Diru Brando (Dill Brand OOOO Lisa Ortiz voice is like nails on a chalkboard.) Anyway peace out people, it summer time, and I'm out of school!!!:D

Rezo specilizes in all types of magic. The 3 main types of magic he can use are:

White-Known from the kingdom of Seyruun (Sailoon) that purifies and uses of exorcism. Mostly priests (Rezo) and clerics (Sylphiel) use this form of magic.

Black-Known from the Mazoku (Monster) race. Can be defensive or offensive. Usually calls the power of a Mazoku. Example: Shabranigdu.

Shaminist-Usually deals with the elements surrounding the area. Zelgadis and Lina are good at these spells. Elements are: Water , Fire , Wind , Earth , and Spirit.

Ahh yes, the Laguna Blade. The second most powerful attack that can cut through an astral plane to defeat an opponent. Either used with or without the Ruby Eye Talismans.

The Ruby-Eye Talismans were not all ruby but calcite, sapphire, onyx, and ruby. These gems mentioned the four demon gods of the astral plane: Ruby Eye-Shabranigdo, Onyx Dark Star, Calcite Death Fog, and I forget the blue one...
