Angel Sanctuary...?

I recently saw two episodes (?) of a series called Angel Santuary at a local convention. It had a rather bad dubbing, and the group I was with was bored, so we ended up leaving before the third one could be shown.

Personally, with the bad dub aside, I thought the direction the plot was heading in was excellent... has anyone out there seen this series? How many episodes are there, and does it become even better after the second episode? And, is a subbed version of it available?

That aside. Angel Sactuary is VERY good. I have not yet got the chance to see the OAV, but I have read the manga. And I can tell you it's great. However I have heard reviews that the AS OAV was very compact compared to the manga.

I'm pretty sure Poiupp X meant subbed... It does go somewhere.... its rather twisted in my opinion... i won't spoil anything... check it out if you get the chance i recommend to anyone.

Angel Sanctuary is just fab! I've read the first volumes of the manga and I really enjoyed it. The theme is quite complicated and compact, something I really like about anime series. The OVA is certainly more compact as they need to put as much of the stuff in a few hours. I haven't seen it by now but the animation looked quite good. Besides I haven't heard of a English subbed or dubbed version.

AS has been licensed by CPM but has not yet been released, it is due to be released this year.

What you probably saw was either a fansub version, or you may have seen the REALLY HORRIBLE hong kong dvd english sub version, which is in truly terrible english.

Actually, it was a U.S. Manga Corps dub. They showed it at the convention as a "First-ever" kind of thing. Lucky us...

*pats Poiupp X on the head* I'm sorry you had to see AS that way... T_T Seriously though, you should try seeing the japanese version or buying the manga. I dun usually mind dub too much, but there's just a certain amount of anime the english language doesn't go well with, and I think AS is one of them.

Well . . .i think i saw a VHS for sale that was a dubbed Angel Sanctuary at animecastle . . . btw . . . how many eps are there? . . .or are there just OVAs? . . .thanx

Sorry that's it. If you want more you'll have to learn Japanese and buy the manga. Or you could wait for the unlikely event of it being translated in to English.


Sucks doesn't it :( On the up side the Japanese version of the manga is very nice.

To the best of my knowledge there is on the one DVD, but if you can find more and prove me wrong I'd be greatful. :p

I'm sory . .i phrased it kinda wrong . .i meant only 3 OVAs and no eps . . .;). .. but obviously if u have seen 3 eps and 1 OVA . . . then ur right . . . unless u saw the same the thing twice and didn't know it :heh: . . .
