Oh, wow....That's a tough one.

Bebop for powerful and emotional endings......(Haven't seen the end of Trigun)

Trigun for comedy.

Both for action.

But, if I must choose.....For the moment I'll say Bebop, since the ending is still fresh in my mind.

Since I started watching these two series at the same time, I was swinging back and forth about which one was better. Early on I thought Bebop was better even though I enjoyed Trigun immensly. About midway through the series I had to admit to myself that I was enjoying Trigun a bit more. I cared more about the Trigun story and charecters than Bebop's. By the 19th episode of Trigun I had decided that it was my favorite anime of all time. So I guess my answer would be, Trigun.

Although I really enjoy Trigun, I like Cowboy Bebop much better. Both serieses have plenty of great characters, action, comedy, and some drama, but Bebop just strikes a better balance in my opinion :)

I say Trigun was full of humor and action, but CB has a deep storyline and very nice animation. But I enjoyed Trigun a lot. Argh. Can't seem to decide... hmm.

I like Trigun ause there's more of a connection that can be made with the characters. Bebop didn't go to much into the characters past letting you fel for them as you can with Vash, knowing his past.

I think I like Bebop better than Trigun though Trigun is still a great anime. I think Bebop had more originality. Trigun seemed so much like Rurouni Kenshin to me.I always pictured Legato as Aoshi and Vash as Kenshin and Wolfwood as Sano.

Trigun is funnier and has more interesting villans.

Bebops has better music,animation,story,and substance.

That's all I think I really have to say in order for y'all to get my opinion.

see you space cowboys.

I like Trigun best. Cowboy Bebop is second of my favorites though. There should be a little more to Trigun though.

Ha this is a joke, in actually watching infact Cowboy Bebop is equal if not a better done show, when comparing skills Vash alone could handle them. Again this is another thread like this because they do compare in some ways, but overall it just doesnt compete in actually fighting skills.

I personally think that Trigun is the better of the two series. It has a story that can be followed from point A to point B while still going into the characters' pasts and motivations.

Bebop on the other hand, while going into the pasts of the characters, does so in a much less linear fashion. It seemed almost secondary to many of the things which happened throughout the series, and the "main plot" or problem only took a very few episodes to really resolve.

I found the animation and music in both series to be excellent, and the characters were intriguing in both series, but the storyline pulls Trigun ahead.

Nothing against Bebop....it was good, just not great, in my opinion. It isn't something I would go out and buy for myself, but I wouldn't mind watching it again, if a friend had it. I am planning on getting Trigun DVDs though.

Trigun is more serious and contains more comedy at different times and Cowboy Bebop has some top-notch drama along with some comedy too. Both have plenty of action and lovable characters. Cowboy Bebop needs some OVAs to take it's fans back into the past when Spike was in the syndicate. The past is nicely revealed in Trigun. No tie-breaker exist for me. :D

I find Trigun more Rewatchable. Maybe it's because of the lighter atmosphere. However, I just love Bebop. Thus, I will shoot myself in the leg instead of answering this question.

It's a very, but very difficult question.

I agree completely with you, thedarkmarine.

They are different belong to different types of anime, I know they have both comedy (Trigun a lot more than Cowboy Bebop) and Trigun's story line follows a certain "road" while Cowboy Bebop's begining (in my opinion) is just about bounty hunting (don't know if it's the correct term) and so it doesn't follow a straight story line, but in the end that's different, to finish, I prefered Cowboy Bebop's ending, it was something outstanding, awesome,...

Trigun definatly. The two animes are very similar, but in my eyes, Beebob is more of a generic anime than Trigun. I'm not saying it isn't good, just ordinary...minus the theme song, which kicks @$$.

I used to be undecided, but the main problem with CB is that I only really like five episodes: the Red Dragon ones. The others are okay, but nothing spectacular. I would've flipped the channel and never seen it again had the first episode I saw not been Ballad of Fallen Angels. I like every Trigun episode.

Perhaps a prequel would satisfy your CB intrests....ya know, I don't think I stress on this enough.

They're both equal in my opinion. Trigun has more comedy while Bebop has more drama. I couldn't decide at the gun point much less in this thread. :sweatdrop

ummm... no. bebop is not generic. KENSHIN is generic. (though still very good :D)

On the other hand, i honestly can't decide between the two because I havn't quite seen all of trigun.

sorry for digging up such an old thread, i just felt the need to say what i thought.

It's that taste of tragedy. I find that as I grew older, I enjoyed this taste more and more. Tragedies are almost always deeper and leaved the viewer thinking.

Trigun all the way. Bebop's lack of a plot for most of the episodes is dissapointing. None of the episodes in Bebop made me feel anything, whereas most of the last eps in Trigun did. Bebop might have it in animation and music, but I like Trigun for the better plot and the more emotion. And the animation and music isnt' bad, either.

glares at Ukiki

trigun is basicly kenshin anyway just in a different setting

anyway

For me it's Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop, IMO, is a perfect example of non-linear storytelling, which is much more difficult to do than the linear stuff that most popular shows are. I'm not saying that non-linear is superior, just that it's a different way to tell a story. But it also requires much more creativity and rely on other artistic elements.

If you watch all of Bebop closly together, you realize how beautifully this show is put together. In almost each episode there is so much subtle foreshadowing going on, and each episode adds a little more to the characters. And I would argue that they do change over the course of the series, except Spike, which is the whole point of the series, I think. But that is getting extremely close to spoilers.

It feature amazing animation, art direction, and music, and manages to mix a wide variety of subgenres into one cohesive whole

Bebop has drama (Black Dog Serenade, Ballad of Fallen Angels, Real Folk Blues, Honkey Tonk Woman), humor (Toys the Attic, Mushroom Samba), and story (the Red Dragon Syndicate plot line, not to mention the individual episode plots)

Trigun while a great anime as well is not in Cowboy Bebops class imo and is much too similar to rurouni kenshin for my liking
