Maya a Lesbian?

Hey, i've been itching to ask this question for a long long time... maybe its just because i bumped into some perverse website or link, or its just a rumor, but how the heck did people get the idea that Maya is a Lesbian? Which episode shows this as a proof and is it really true?

But i haven't seen it yet, so i wouldn't know what to tell you.

Well, I think it all comes from Instrumentality in EOE, where everyone is being instrumentalized, and during it they see people dear to them. Hyuga saw Misao, Futuski saw Yui, and Maya saw Ritsuko. Although I thought that Maya's totally straight, and just had a deep respect for Ritsuko, there are some people out there (not mentioning any names :D) that misinterpreted it and think that Maya's gay, just like they interpreted Kaoru being gay.

Give me a break... all these dumb theories...hehheh... maybe someone just created them for fun and people started to spread them around the web and world... >.< comeon peoples... oh well, I still think that Maya just has a deep respect for Ritsuko.. not the other theory... *.* I also think that people might have interpretted this because of the message that Ritsuko types into the keyboard right before Maya turns into LCL... I think it goes sumthin like "I need You..." or sumthin... kind of weird but I still believe that Maya is straight...

I think it is the respect thing that Maya has for Ristuko, they just make up the little gay couples so people can write funny fanfics or do crazy fan art (has anyone seen the one with Gendou and Fuyutsuki doing like a little tango), creative funny, untrue (we think anyway)

Well, there's love between those two alright.
But I reckon there's love/lust and love/respect/bonding, and I reckon that's the kind Maya's got for Ritsuko. Like the love Kaoru has.

I think it's a beautiful comment that love doesn't automatically have to be sexual, and I think that was the writer's intent when he wrote that final scene.

Ritsako didn't really have any friends except Maya,think about it,The friendship between Ritsako and Misato was false as stated in ep.25,the relationship between her and the commander was FALSE,he was using her,and she didn't have any friendship with the techs.They just respected her.Then there was Maya,apart from respecting her,Maya was also Ritsako's only friend in the world.That's why Ritsako wrote"i need you"on the computer.Not because of sexual purposes.

I'm not a big fan of the idea, but I don't think you should rule it out completely!!! ^_^ It *is* possible that there *was* something, and we're all just being homophobic and scared and covering it up with "respect" and such. Just a thought....
