When Gendo sent Ritsuko to talk with Seele, instead of Rei why was she naked, I mean no one else was naked when talking with Seele, what am I missing here, it seems....odd?

I didn't realise she was totally naked. I remember that I only saw she had no clothes from the top of her shoulders upwards, but I assumes she had a low cut top on or something.
But I guess being naked would make her more pliable. Same as with Fuyutsuki. When he was kidnapped and all tied up, I thought he had a bruise on his face as though he was beaten up. That could make him more talkative as well.
Of course, it could just be that all the men at Seele are dirty old perverts who wanted to look at Ritsuko naked.

It was Gendo who sent her there. They wanted to talk to Rei to get some info out of her but she was way to valuable so he sent Ritsuko. He sent her in naked in hopes that it would distract Seele. Wouldn't talking to a naked woman kind of distract you from your interrogation. Just look at the scene where Shinji walks into Rie's room and sees her naked. He freaks and could barely talk let alone give her the card. Gendo was hoping that it would keep Seele from carrying it out in a proper manner thus not getting the info they needed. She was pissed at Gendo so she decided to help Seele with the Eva seires. So Gendo's plan sort of backfired there.

capt jake, how do you know she decided to help make the eva series? is it in the movies?
also i doubt seele would freak out about a naked woman - they are the ones who are trying to change mankind's future!! they aren't likely to get fussed about seeing a naked woman.

I agree with Capt Jake.......I would think any one would be a little bit distracted seeing a girl naked...and Ritsuko's pretty hot too....I mean, didnt u see how Shinji reacted when he saw Rei and Asuka naked!?? C'MON!

she was the one respoinsible for posibility of the creation of the evas (they are refering to all of them as series not just the 05 - 13 or whatever) and the dummy plug. right after they let her go they say:
"Regarding Evangelions, Eight of them are under construction."
"Four more have not."
she can't have decided to help them at this point, cause they're already almost finished! they only make one more (9 in the movie i think).
and the naked bit, common.. they're not 14 year old boys ffs!!

I think fasad is on the right track. True, it was Gendo who sent in Ritsuko, but not naked. It was Seele that stripped her. Lucky sons of bitches, I'd say. Stripping people of clothes is a common technique used in interrogation, in order to humiliate and make the interrogatee feel exposed and vulnerable. SS officers of Nazi Germany were notorious for using this technique, they wore spiffy uniforms with spiffy blazers, flared thighs, tight leather boots while they kept interrogatees tied naked to chairs.
One of the voices(I think Keel) of Seele says, "We do not want to disgrace you." The Japanese sentence that quote is derived from includes the phrase "any further", implying that Seele has already disgraced her by stripping her for the interrogation, and they want her to speak up, so they wouldn't have to disgrace her any further. Come on, how can you think that an infantile plan like sending a naked woman would distract the members of Seele?
As for the line about Ritsuko being of use to Seele for a while more, they were probably referring to the sabotage she would perform on the dummy plug production factory in jealous hysteria. Seele knew the relationship in between Gendo, Rei and Ritsuko, as well the background with Naoko. They purposely told her during the interrogation that Gendo sent her as a replacement for Rei, thus manipulating her to destroy the Rei clones.
As fasad points out, Ritsuko couldn't be of help in the development of the Eva series from that point on, as she is confined within Nerv for her actions.

Well, although the members of Seele might not been 14 yo boys, there are still all men, and if there's one thing in common with all guys(at least hetrosexual men), its probably gonna not being able to think straight when faced by a totally naked beautiful chick.
As for Shinji reacting to Rei and Asuka, what do you expect? He's an average horny little 14yo boy. When Misato was yelling at him in the 2nd episode, what was he doing? He was perving down her top!
And maybe Ritsuko did help Seele. I mean, in the film, the eva series are piloted by the dummy system, right? And I think that Gendo would want to keep that hush-hush, cos then if ppl knew, they'd know the truth about Rei. Maybe Ritsuko gave Seele the means of the dummy plug, cos Seele didn't know the truth about Rei, cos they wanted to talk to her about the destruction of Unit 00 (not entirely sure about this), so they probably didn't know that she was a clone. Seele would probably have a similar clone structure full of Kaworus, but maybe just didn't know how to make the dummy plug. That mite be what ritsuko helped them with.
Of course, that means that Ritsuko was indirectly responsible for Asuka's death (sob, sob)
