First Impressions...

I rented the first 4 eps of The Mysterious Play last night and watched them. Pretty interesting...lots of laughs...Tamahome rocks...sorta "girly" with all the sparkles around male character introductions. I read that some people have problems with all the SD in the show, and I did notice there was quite a bit. It didn't bother me ( SD is :kawaii: ) but it tends to become too standard after seeing it over and over again.

However, I'm still planning on renting the next tape because I'd like to see the other Seven...

BTW, did anyone else notice the north, south, east, and west protectors had the same names as the different books you find in the Playstation 2 game Onimusha? Is this a common theme in Japan/China with these names?

They aren't COMMON, but they are actually taken from old Mythology (or what have you)....Watch in "X" the Movie VERY closely at the scenes where Hinoto-Hime is sitting on that big mat behind the screen...watch the floor and you'll see the Kanji for the Seichiseishi names, becuase astrology is a world-wide thing and this system is based on Constellations~! Whoo!!


::koffkoff:: Also note that "Oni" out of "Onimusha" is the first Kanji in "Tamahome" and the one appearing on his forehead.



P.S. I luv you Drizz. Tama-baby is THE most kick-@rse guy. But once you see how sickening his relationship with Miaka-baka turns and how cool Tasuki is, you may change yer mind.

Tasuki comes in in the 3rd tape I think.... If I remember >< and HE IS THE HOTTEST FY GUY! ^^ Tamahome... is cool... but Chichiri and Nuriko are cooler... ^^

but the SD is soooo cute! ^^ in FY, the char are always in SD when it's a funny scene. Chichiri and Tasuki are the cutest SD ever!

yeah, the whole Four Gods thing is based on constellations... in the next tapes, it will be explained all in details.

Miaka will just get on your nerves more and more as the series drags on with her...She NEVER gives up the eating thing. Tasuki comes in in...episode, well, SHOOT. Can't remember. Ask Hiyoku-sama. She knows it ALL.


Hiyoku-megami-sama-chan, th' ORIGINAL Tasuki no Miko... ^.~ She's been hot for him since the series came out in Japan...around 1991..?

Yes, Miaka will never cease to annoy me. Somewhat Usagi-like but more bothersome. Tamahome was cool at first, but then... Tasuki's still the best character. I wish I had a fan like his. :D

As I was picking out the tape to rent, I noticed there appeared to be different series of FY...can someone clarify this for me? Is there a second season or something?

I was confused too when I first saw those tapes in the video center
those are the OAVs. there's 2: one of 3 eps, and a second of 6 eps. but on the dub tapes, they put them together, so it made 3 tapes, 3 eps each, with a total of 9 eps. I've seen the first OAV, but I still have to rent the second one ^^;

I will on Monday...I have to watch volume 2 of Blue Seed and eps 1-8 of the SD Mini Oh! My Goddess series...I'm going to a rave on Friday (recovery period on Saturday...) and on Sunday I'm visiting my parents. But I'll get the next volume, just for you guys.

here's a fact...

suzaku (south god), seiryuu (east god), biyako (west god), genbo (north god) are the four gods worship both in japan and china during the middle ages...

you can see a lot of artifacts in both countries have the same religion and the same belief back then...

as you can see, some cultures in japan originated in china

japan is under china back then and the only thing that connects the two contries together is the country korea...

Um, Okay, Its Genbu, Byakko, Seiryuu, and Suzaku. They were, at one point, worshipped, but I would think it was before what we consider "Middle Ages"...by that point, Japan was an established country and was no longer under China. Shintoism became a ready religion there...

Think on it this way: If Buddism and Shintoism are like Christianity, the old religion that revolved around the Four Gods (Cardinal Directions who, of course, would have had Chinese names) is like Paganism. Old, ancient, and all but forgotten. 'S why it is in legend and connected to astronomy.

The Controller of the World seems pretty cool...and I love her helpers!

I can sense some tension between Miaka and Yui for some reason...Yui seemed to get a bit pissy when Miaka though she'd be unable to go back to Earth. If only Yui was stuck with Hotohori and Tamahome, she'd understand...:lol:

just make sure you watch the ovas AFTER you've seen the tv series.

When you wath the OVAs you can leave out the first 3... it will only confuse you.... I still think those first 3 eps are FY on crack. :heh:

Poor me couldn't see eppys #1-14. But I did see #15-52. I luv FY. Tasuki is kool. Tamahome is hot looking. Nuriko looks hot as a girl or guy. Miaka started to get annoying...
