Record of Lodoss War - DVD ¿¿¿

I have heard that Record of Lodoss War is cool and now i want to buy the dvd.

But i found to version - One called Record of Lodoss War DVD and a other calld Record of Lodoss War TV DVD Collection.

The first is about 290 in running time and the other 620 in running time.

Now here is the question - Which one of dvd serie shall I buy - Is there to version or is there more ekstra scene in the Record of Lodoss War than the other....

Or is it simple two serie ? - Because then i have to buy the both.

It is two sepeprate series. Record of Lodoss War, and Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight.

Get the shorter DVD first, which is the OVA series. It is based on the first novel, so it takes place first chronologically.

Get the TV series second. The tv series covers Novels 3 and 4, and novels 6 and 7, while summing up the Novels 2 and 5 in flashbacks.

Once you've finished the OVA and start the TV series, you'll notice some differences. That's because the OVA was based on Novel 1, but had some changes (2 of these changes are BIG changes). Also, the OVA series couldn't sum up the events of all 7 novels in 13 episodes, so they made a shorter, modified version of the ending for the OVA. The TV series is practically verbatum of the novels in terms of events.

OVA has 13 episodes and TV series has 27 episodes.

I am seriously expecting them to make a Lady of Pharis Anime some time in the future. I've even seen fully animated pictures of Wort, Fahn, Beld, Karla, Neese, and Fleve when they were young.

I purchased the box set dvds on a whim a month ago and I have watched them 5 times now, its just an amazing piece of work. Best way to put it is that you get that feeling like you are reading an epic book =)
