Jin-roh

Has anyone seen it? I'm not sure if many people would like it, in fact I'm not even sure if I like it!! Still, I would like to hear other people's opinions on it :)

What's Jin-roh about? I've never even heard of it...

Jin-Roh is written by Mamoru Oshii (although the movie is directed by someone else).

It is the story of an alternate future where the Germans won the Second World War (that's not really the important part).

There is civil unrest, and there are special troops to deal with the worst of it. The Wolf Brigade is rumoured to be the crack force within the armed forces, who operate outside normal rules.

When a trooper faces a young girl terrorist who he fails to prevent from blowing herself up, he meets up with her sister to examine his life and actions.

It's a fairly brutal movie, more in terms of emotional impact rather than the whizz-bang stuff you get in, say, Spriggan.

Quite dark and bleak, and a nice extension to the themes of Patlabor 2, albeit based on the old legend of Little Red Riding Hood!
