A request for clarification (spoilers)

I just finished watching the series. Good stuff, but it leaves one question unanswered, and I don't mean the stuff Ruri mentions. This is really starting to bug me now: why can the Jovians survive a Boson jump? We know why Akito, Yurika, and Inez can do it: they were born on Mars, and the nanotechnology altered their genes when it was exposed to the Martian ruins. We know that the three of them together are apparently capable of generating a field that can teleport the entire ship safely. All well and good, but why can the Jovians do it? They were never exposed to the nanotechnology on Mars. They mention their DNA has been altered, but how did it happen? Arrrgh! This is driving me crazy! Does anyone know the answer? Was it something I missed? Failing an answer, even a credible theory will do...

As they said in the story their dna was altered to where they could survive a jump. They mention somewhere along the way that many people died before they got it to where they could survive jumping...it was a trial and error kind of thing :)

Remember that the Jovians spent a good deal of time living on Mars too. They were cast from the moon to Mars. Later on Nuclear missiles were launched at Mars and they were then pushed back to Jupiter. So some of them would have undergone the same mutations that Akito, Yurika and Inez did while they were living on Mars

Ok..and what's going on with that rock Akito wears? I remember what happened at the beginning of the series...but what happened after that? This still has me at a loss.

The Chulip crystals act in a similar manner to the tulips themselves. They act as devises used to generat the particals needed to access the jump system controled by the martian artifact. They cna't protect living things, just open a way into the jump system.

The Chulip Crystal he wore was "used up" when he jumped back on Mars. This was explained later on in the series....is that what you were originally asking....Im not quite sure what you meant.
