ep 25 occurs after the events of the Spring Special....
*** SPOILER ***
hmm... i guess...
its just that keitaro and Naru dont seem to be in toudai like they should be after the ss. In fact, they dont even mention toudai at all.

They aren't the focus of the story... Motoko is... so why would they focus on them if they aren't the focus of the eps story?

Post Spring Special. Keitaro and Naru seem awefully open about their relationship, and just because they were accepted to Toudai doesn't mean the school year starts immediately :)
You also have to take in account that the events depicted in episode 25 are from manga volume 9, while those in the spring special are in volume 8, and the manga as a pretty good continuity.
ok
yeah, i guess that makes sense :)

Another thing about the two episodes, in the spring special, Motoko used the sword with the two red tassles, but that sword was broken in episode 25.

For the canonical and hence definitive continuity of the franchise, one must ultimately turn to the manga. After all, the Anime is BASED UPON it, but had to be HEAVILY altered due to the mountainous amount of content in the source material that would be considered offensive if screened at prime time.
Funny though at the end of the SS she really like Keitaro now its back to she-hates-him-to-the-bone deal *sigh*

But the way i see it, its just a covor. You know... kinda like how in life even we wear different faces when faced with different situations or placed in different environments. :D
