Which Macross movie is the Real one?

I know the rare macross movie is Macross: Do you remember love? But I just saw one simply title Macross: The Movie. Is this the same thing? I've been looking for this movie for a couple of months and I need a copy, I'm a real macross fan. So any thing you guys could do to help me out would be very...um...helpful.

The propper title is Macross: Do you remember love? are you sure that the Macross: The movie is not in fact Macross II: The movie. Set 50 years after the end of the TV series and pretty average at that.

How much Macross movies are there? I'd seen two of them, I liked the second movie a bit more.
But I never even heard of a TV series...:confused:

macross the series was robotech or it was in just 1 part the macross saga of it.

These are the Macross series and movies in order of release in Japan:

Macross, 36 episodes Macross: Do You Remember Love?, movie Macross:Flashback 2012 ,short movie Macross II: Lovers Again Macross Plus, 4 part OVA Macross Plus: The Movie, movie,duh Macross 7 , 49 episodes Macross 7 Dynamite, movie I believe there is another Macross 7 entry too

Robotech is an American translation of the original Macross series. 36 episodes were too short for American TV so Macross was combined with 2 other series to make it long enough. 1st 36 episodes were from Macross, 2nd 24 episodes were fromSouthern Cross, and the rest were from Genesis Climber Mospeada. Plots of each were changed to make them fit together.

For me 2012 is the rare one, but DYRL is hard to get too, not talking about that crappy Clash of the Bionoids thing. As far as Macross: The Movie, I've seen Bionoids labled that way too.

Um well to me I dunno myself if its the the one you said which is the "Do You Remember Love?" which I 1st saw in 1984 but the other which is the Super Dimensional Fortress which I saw in 1992 must be also it. Frankly I cannot help to tell you which is the real one because apperently there is no real one since they both are Macross and of the same makers.

Love Do You Remember would be the first one for the original series if you're asking what's "real" but Isamu has all the Macross answers *points to Isamu*

Question...My dad has a Macross movie that he got before I was born, or at least when I was really small. I hate it and I consider it one of the worst animes I've ever seen, maybe one of you knows which one it is. It starts off with really HORRID theme music, some guy singing "Soldier of war and of dep space! MACROSS" *shudders...* Anyway, it goes into an elaborated history about how this thing crashed into earth and blah blah. Now they're having a festival because of its launch, Rick's a show off, Minme's a bimbo, and the enemy looks poorly drawn, and in the end there's the HORRID theme music again. (I just hope to the Gods of anime that the rest of the series is better than the one thing I've seen)

Seriously though, it sounds like the original series to me. The theme song to the original Macross isn't the best, but it could be worse.

I think thats the pilot sent to the network, a good chunk of the beginning and then Glovals report tacked together. The celebration is when they land on earth again around episode 20ish

Too bad we can't link to mp3's since I have both the Robotech and te Macross themes avalable. There's a big difference between them.

The Robotech opening is good, the Macross one is an aquired taste.

Aquired taste? It's just about the worst anime opening theme I've ever heard!!! Oh, and I looked at the tape again, the name of it is "Booby Trap" Stupid name, stupid theme song...blah, anime from the 80's scares me!
