Most definitely Priss, because she's got a badass attitude, she's hot, down to earth, and has the coolest bike I've ever seen. I want a bike like that!

Naru-chan from Love Hina is the cutest thing anime has seen, but since most ppl haven't seen that yet I guess I can't prove it. Nene is super-cute though. She was always my second fav.

my fav has to be nene. she's so cute and funny! plus my nickname is naynay(nay^2). yeah, i know it's spelled differently but i got the nickname before i had even seen bbc. and if you're counting outer characters my next fav would be mackey. he's so cute, and spike spencer(shinji) does his voice so it's a double winner. :P

Yeah, I've seen upto Ep 15 of BGC 2040, its very different to BGC2032-33, probably to get rid of all of the Bladerunner references, its very very similar, anyone notice Genom Towers looked an awful lot like Tyrell Tower. But anyway I Like Nene the most in both, she is the greatest source of comedy

Hmmmm, kind of. Priss is almost the same, Nene is very similar but Linna is a lot less confident and Mackie is nothing like he used to be. Sylia is a lot more complex etc..

Priss: In a way, she's kind of even more reserved and a "loner" than the original. But that's just my opinion.

Lina: Umm .. she's kinda of the new one to the show so she's a little different in that we get to see how she develops (and i'm not really talking physically here :D) and fits in with the group. I don't really know what to say about her ...

Leon: He's changed from pro-knight sabers to anti-knight sabers. :(

Leon's sidekick: He's not gay anymore! wahahahaha

Mackie: Like I said, he's different alright!

As for the bad guys, I don't remember their names so I won't comment on them :D.

My favorite character in the new series is a tie between Linna and Nene. For the old school BGC I'd have to go with Nene.

I've only seen the originals. NeNe is definatly the best, Priss is an arrogant lazy sweet talkin b****.
At leat Asuka (evangelion) and Akane(Ranma) have soft sensitive sides as well as the "bad ass" ones. is there much differen't in the newer ones?

Like when Priss trashes that kids bike, she sweet talks pops into fixing it. or before that she trashed his bike and used her sweet talking on him to get him to let her..

then there's the whole getting info outta the cop thing and treating him like dirt. And I wont even get started on her being mean to NeNe about NeNe's romantic hopes...

Well I've only seen the first few episodes of 2040, but the boomers aren't all humanoid. Some look just like robots. Another model type looks like a human except for the paler skin and reddish eyes. In the original the boomers could pass for a human until they revealed themselves.

As for the differences in the characters, there are quite a few. Priss is still kicks alot of arse, but she is more withdrawn. I hear she opens up more later in the series though.

I think the lines for good and evil are too clearly defined. You shouldn't be able to know someone is evil or does something wrong just by looking at them. If a TV series has to use stereotypes to define things then it aint well written.

sylia's just a good leader. she's sophisticated, has humor - works in a lingere shop ^_^ - and most of all, she's can fight and is not afraid to kill
nene is really cute and funny. she's really easy to warm towards

i liked her in the old one too, but i just like her the most in the new ep's. sylia's too complex for my liking, and nene hasn't got pink hair :(

Okay, I'm gonna go with an obscure character here and say Leon's partner, Daley. It cracks me up the way he's always coming on to Leon. Out of Knight Sabers, I'd have to go with Sylia, though. 'Course, I haven't seen 2040 yet, becuase I'm holding off to get it on DVD if I can. 2 episodes per tape just sucks. What I want to know about 2040 is the quality of the music. It would have to be DAMN fine to surpass the original.

This series is definitely worth the look. I have the first 10 volumes on VHS. At first I was not too sure because the first volume starts off a little slow. However, by the last episode of the tape you fly by the seat of your pants. The story progresses quite well after that.Oh yes, Nene is probably my favorite because she provides the comedy that balances out the seriousness of Priss and Sylia. Lina is too drab to do the job.

whats this about bgc2033 iv never heard of it, is it buyable on dvd cause iv got 2040 on dvd and it kicks arse so of course i want the prev series plus nene with pink hair interesting,
so to dryden-san get it on dvd ASAP
and to LP, leon goes back to liking the knight sabers at the and of 2040 plus daley wong is still gay i found that out on charicter profiles on the dvd it has some realy good stuff on it
but there is no best charicter as it depends on your preferences
ie i like priss cause she has that giv-em hell attitude
Nene cause she's cute , funny has the best facial expressions especially when mackey see's her in her pink underwear!!
sylia cause she's vicouse even more so than priss when it comes to fighting boomers
and Linna cause she's drop dead gorgeous

I have to agree with you Mathew.
I like all the charecters for different reasons.
Sylia because shes so unbelievably gorgeous.
Mackey because hes such a spunk and hes so cute.
Nene because shes really funny and kawaii.
Linna because she never gives up.
Nigel because hell always be there for the knight sabers.
Priss cause she doesnt take crap from noone especially boomers.
And Leon because while he may look real tough hes really a softie underneath.
But at the end of the day Syllia is my favourite female charecter while Mackey is my favourite male charecter.

i see your point wstml32 especially whith Sylia as she is with out a doubt the best looking but she gets realy pissed off quite often where as Linna dose not which is probably why i preffer Linna but none the less all the charicters are excellently drawn and have interesting personalities better than any other cartoon iv seen

I know where l live Blockbuster Video stocked the entire series.
You have to see it its arguably the anime series of all time.

Yes, BGC2040 is in a 4/4/4/4/5/5 split, while NGE is in a 4/4/3/3/3/3/3/3 split. They both consist of 26 episodes.

Before you rush out and buy the DVDs rent the fist volume of NGE on video and see if you like it.

Syllia is definitely my favourite charecter followed closely by Linna.
I dont know what it is about Linna but im really starting to like Linna if you know what i mean.:) :p
As for the male charecters Mackey is definitely my favouite.

well 2033 was the first version of bubble gum crisis. yeah i think u can get it on dvd but the anime is very old. plus its were 2040 got all their stuff from. pratically its sorta liked 2033, same names, but just a revved up newer version and new character deisign :D

yeah kinda what wstml said, i havent actually seen 2040 myself but i have watched some previews and it seems like almost the same plot. in 2033 its the deals with genom i think the evil super corporation and the girls of bgc are against them. also they take down renegade boomers and the show revolves around priss and that when she gets into trouble usually involves a boomber or something her friends show up to back her up in their suits. but i liked 2033, but im not sure how 2040 is. i heard its good but i need to see it myself. also (spoiler coming up)








in 2040 i heard mackey was actually a boomer in 2040 while in 2033 he was really sylvia brother. there are minor differences but i think the plot are pretty similar. in 2033 priss does her singing act and i wonder if the priss in 2040 does it also and i think she does not sure :heh: but to me i guess u arent missing that much but 2033 is just a classic and original of the bgc :D

Apparty from the compleatly different storylines, personalitys and drawing styles the idears behind it are different to.

As for the plot... Forget trying to compeare the to. They have the same charictors and thats about it.
