I'm developing a Character who is similar to Valgaav.

Name: Jinas Ryuzoku
Race: Ancient/Dimos Dragon /Mazoku (hes a bastard lol)
Hair: Red/Long
Eyes: Blue
Weapon: 2H Long Sword "Tennotsukai" (Guardian Angel)
Main Magic: Mazoku/Human Form: Dark Claw (daaku kurou), Hell Blast (heru burasuto), Vun Ga Ruim (vun ga ruim)
Secondary Magic: Ancient Form: Flow Break (furou bureiku), Mos Varim (mosu varimu), Vas Gluudo (vasu guruudo)

Most Profecient: Ancient Form w/o the presence of Golden Dragon blood. (Can use both Ancient and Mazoku magic) Better Swordsman than Magic user.

Least Profecient: In the presence of Golden Dragons, only able to use Mazoku line of spells, and has less strength (poorer swordsmanship)

Jinas, like Valgaav can not fully transform to a full Dragon. Likewise he also has partial evolution such as wings and partialy scaled Arms/Claws and Wings.

Jinas can not use his Ancient Dragon powers when a Golden Dragon is in either battleing parties but he can use his Mazoku line of spells. (to follow later pending rules)

Here is sort what I think he should look like (Full Ancient Evolution, much more Human in appearance normaly)

Character Bio: Very little is know about Jinas. His Mother was belived to be one of the Ancient Dimos Dragons, who had been raped by a Full Mazoku. He lives knowing this and thus is forced to face a very emotional confrontation when he uses his Mazoku powers. He feels best when he is able to evolve into his Ancient form, and would like to someday rid himself of his Mazoku heritage and somehow obtain Pure Ancient status.

He is careing, yet extreamly tempermental. His magic is at times extremly unstable because of his emotional state. He has never hurt anyone, other than himself from any mishaps. Although he fears that if were were to persue his Mazoku arts more, he could become not only more powerful, but more dangerous.

background : born in one or the rural parts of saillune .....left home in a young age ....learn magic on his own .....also got a robin hood complex, will attack everyone who he thinks got lotsa money and doesn't need it to support the less fortunate.

I'm in. You should all really create new characters. I for one don't like the idea of one character being the complete central ultimate character, especially in a RL RPG. If it happened in one of my adventuring parties, that char would die very quickly.

But I don't think we all should create new characters. If we balance the RPG out enough, we can avoid that one character turns out as the ultimate chara.

Well...new characters no...but not everyone can be Lina with her line of spells. Personaly I think spells like Dragon Slave, and Ra Tilt shouldnt be alowed. I mean unless we put some sort of point system into play and classify the spells by cost. And something like Dragon Slave could only be used once per battle and have a 50/50 chance or somthing.

Umm...no thats sort of my point. I mean really when you think about it the series doesnt go into much of the way as in "requirments" to cast a spell. I mean if this is gonna work, a person who says they are Lina can not cast Dragon Slave every round...thats just not balance.

Besides, I think making lets say a character whos personality is like Lina, but uses more White magic would be interesting. I was thinking about having my guy use a Darkstar weapon...but again theres the issue of balance.

Okay, so far we've decided that the main Slayers characters are allowed as well as new characters.
Now, let's get the magic problem handled. My idea would be that each of the characters has specialized on a maximum of two magic areas :: White, Black, Spirit, Water, Fire, Earth or Wind. Those areas can be chosen freely by each of you.

Hmmm... Seems to me that if you want to create an RPG, you ought to know what is available under each category. The TV series alone does not mention half the spells that exist in the Slayers universe. Check out http://member.nifty.ne.jp/QPHOUSE/magic/m_index_e.html for an encyclopedia of EVERY spell in the Slayers world. Very useful!

IMO it would be best for people to design their own characters based from whatever guidlines we set. You would have Zel or Lina...but they would have to be "toned down" if you get my drift, hehe.

First of all, it's mainly me who sets the guidelines as I'm the main RPG admin. *evil laugh* I have the control! Bwahaha!

*cough* N-ways, the limit of RPG members is set to 20. Anything above this number would lead to confusion during the game, I have experience in this. We have four basic characters which are Lina, Gourry, Zelgadiss and Amelia, the other 16 will be made-up characters. Oh, and Lina is already taken by me.

One more thing, I don't think it's a good idea to create too many new races or spells. One new race and one new spell per member is fine but not more. Have you seen how many spells already exist? o.O

A pbem is usally faster than a board RPG. Besides, it's easier to follow the story instead of looking through hundreds of threads just to keep up with everything in case you couldn't roleplay for a day or longer.

Good question. ^^
First of all, you should take care of the basic stuff, the so-called stats. That includes: name, nickname (if existing), height, weight, hair and eye color, magic (which your character mainly uses), race, weapon (if existing) and then maybe the relations to others or just the family.
What follows then is the written part, the character history along with important facts. That can be either detailed and long or short, depending on what you prefer.

Short history: She wears bunny ears and a lil fluffy white thing on the butt like bunnies because ever since her childhood she loved bunnies and because of a misterious event she wishes she would be one. She is very childish and dispite her age she looks like a kid. But she has a big heart, always wants to help out and loves adventure. Her parents died when she was really young and she was educated by a strange old lady who was really skilled in black and fire magic. Aiki got her white magic skills from a monestery where she lived for years, 'till this RPG's adventure began. ^^ Oh, and she loves to eat as much as Lina. ^^; That's a familly thing, that's why her family name is Obento. ^^;

Ciao Banban is just comming along for the ride. she likes birds and doesn't try very hard to be the miko she's always dreamed to be. her main purpose is to go around and save ppl from evil deamons and spirits but usually fails and makes the situation worse. but her cuteness and charm gets her out of whatever mess she makes and just tries again the next time. She wears the traditional miko like outfit (ya know the think kikyo wears in inuyasha) loves wearing bells. She's not very bright but tries her hardest in what ever she does.

Personality: Educya is very flamebouant, she is also VERY defensive. She does her best to get what SHE wants and very rarely desides to help others, for she sees only the advantages for herself. She is very mysterious even though she's around a lot. She falls easily for evil guys :naughty: .
Background: She LOVES to hear and gossip with(rarely), and about(most always) the dark lords, so she is and has been fairly well known among them. She also had a HUGE crush on Valgaav...hehe...After his dissapearence though, Educya has not been seen as much, she's also been a lot more sullen. But, she is slowly getting over it.

Yes....if you do want to be involved, or involve a player character in your story, you would most definantly want to communicate with that person before hand.

People are not perfect...my portion of the RP was a bit out of timeline, and I appologize for that (specificaly to Weird). I was in fact a bit overwhelmed at the response some put into the story. There is NO way I am able to add to the story 2-3 times a day.

I feel it is harmless to include small excerpts of interaction with other PCs as long as A. You do not represent them in a negative or demeaning way. B. You do not regulate their opinions towards things. and C. You do not dictate what actions they have to take.

I thought my part of the story was harmless, apparently I was wrong.

Lina slowly opened her eyes and got up
into a sitting position. She rubbed her forehead
and recalled what had happened some time ago.
*Okay, I got kidnapped. And Merlin couldn't help
me either though he always said what a great
sorcerer he is.* In that moment she spotted the
person who had kidnapped her. A huge sweatdrop
curled down her head when she noticed that he was
asleep. "I just don't believe it. How can one be
so stupid. I can easily get away." With that Lina
stood up and disappeared into the forest. Maybe
she should just give it a try and search for
Gourry. Somehow she had the feeling that he was
in the near. /DIV DIV Some birds flew overhead as
Gourry looked up. He saw something off in the
distance and notcied it was coming closer and
closer. He focused his eyes and could see it was
two people flying. Some guy...And..."Hm," He
thought. "That girl looks a little like Lina. And
she doesn't look very happy. Maybe I should see
where this guy is heading. Gourry turned around
and started iskly walking, following the flying
people. Suddenly a thought occured to him: How
could they fly...? Oh, it must of been a special
spell or something...He continued on till he
reached a small clearing. He saw two figures
crumpled there, one being....Lina! he shouted her
name a nd dashed over. "Lina, what happened?" Kas
slowly awoke to the weird sensation that someone
was near by, but didn't know who or where. He
opened his eyes and quickly looked around to see
that Lina, whom he had endavered to save, is
gone. 'I shouldn't have cast that stun spell. I
would have made it over the mountains, THEN
passed out...' he thought as he swore silently.
Then the sensation hit him again, and this time
he picked up on what it was: Lina. 'Well, might
as well get hiking.' Then he noticed Gourry. As
if on impulse, Kas drew his staff and landed
silently in front of him and said: "Who are you
and what do you want?"
"Hullo. I'm Gourry. I'm just saying hello to
Lina here and wondering why you were flying
around with her....That was you, wasn't it...?"
Gourry smiled and exrtended his hand, not
noticing the anger on the stranger's face.
'Oh my god, is this guy blind or what? Oh,
well, no need to make enemies now is there. He
might just be who I was looking for.' "That was
me. I am called Kas. I would give you a last name
if i had one. You know Lina, how? Next time you
see here, tell her that I mean no harm to her,

her." Gourry turned and headed off towards where

It doesn't, it's based on a quest Mikomi invented. ^^ Here it is, the intro of the RPG:

One year after TRY. By chance Lina learns of the existence of the Shamanic Crystals which hold incredible power of one of the five elements within. One crystal alone can increase the effect of spells related to its element greatly but all five crystals combined together give their owner the full control over all elements and with it immense power. Lina, being herself, decides to search for the Shamanic Crystals along with her friends Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadiss. Throughout their journey they meet new traveling companion but also new enemies all in search for the crystals and their powers which can destroy the world if they fall in the wrong hands.

Sorry, I PMed Mikomi with his stats, so i will put them up here:

Name: Kas (real full name is unknown to him)
Age: Ageless
Height: 6'00
Weght: 200 pds
Eyes: Peicing gray and is color blind like myself
Hair: Unmanagable, long and reddish-brown
Strenth: Not very strong physically, but is a powerful Mage
Speed: Very fast and hard to hit with a wepon.
Wepons: A staff that is enchanted not to break and when disarmed or just plain pissed off, a pair of wicked blades that are connected right to his wrists.
Magic: Knows a variety of spells but is most skilled in time spells and indirect magics. He utterly HATES white magic... and that is to be explained later on in the RPG if someone would stick around long enough to hear him out.

Personality: Very negative about himself and situations but is an excellent listener if somebody has the nerve to talk to him. He has lived on his own since a massive forget spell wiped his memory clean and avoids towns and cities at all costs. He has managed to live this long on hunting his own food, he believes he can keep doing it for the rest of his life. And a very firm beliver in Eye for an Eye...(keep the avoiding the town and cities on mind, that could make an intresting story line in the future)

Curse: He is enchanted never to die until he learns to care for others in a slightly different way... that should explain why he wants the crystals...

Sumimasen, WI-kun, but the battle system takes longer as I originally thought. :heh:
N-ways, I came up with some ideas. I'll give you a list with basic spells which all who have magical powers are able to use. Then I'll publish a list with spells you're allowed. Those are also sorted by levels. All of use have a strength in certain magic areas and can use the higher levels in those while in all others they can just use spells at level one.
The battle system will work like this: You prepare an attack and say at which character you aim it at but you're not allowed to decide whether the attack has an effect on the target, that's decided by the player himself/herself.

Now that we're about to start our first real battle, some instructions first.
Only use spells which actually exist. That means you're allowed to use any spell listed at Slayers Universe (http://www.inverse.org). With some restrictions and exceptions. :heh:
No one is allowed to cast all spells. Mainly use those which fit to your characters magic areas you specified in your profile. And also take care about the actual effects of your spells. When your major is Fire and Wind, spells of these areas are quite strong. Spells of other areas however only have an average power or even lower.
That's easy enough I hope. ^^

Runes are told to hold magical power but it all depends on the sign drawn on the rune. They have different meanings like water or earth. Somehow they are like a sort of alphabet.

The only thing that comes near to this mind reading story is the spell Telepathy which exists in the Slayers world.
But I have to agree, KAS is getting too wierd. The Slayers is a story with seriousness but at least as much craziness and funny moments. Plus .... don't go near the godmode! You cannot change half of the history just because you want your character to play a great rule in it.

It doesn't exist. And about making it up ..... well, you're allowed to create one new spell and if you want your invented spell to be a Fire Wall, I have nothing against it. But you cannot create any new spells from now on.

and now to elaborate on the spell's function ,as it name suggest ,the spell creates a wall 3 meters infront of the one who casted it .it's creates a 5 meter tall , 10 meter wide defensive wall of flames ,it causes the assilents to be damaged if attacking head on ,that spell is effective when facing ranged attacks or head on attacks ....assuming the assilant won't stop ...but it can also be used as an attack spell if the magician is 3 meters from the enemy or enemies...

Your new spell is absolutely correct, WI. I always imagined new spells to be like this. Taking an already existing spell and changing it a bit to fit your needs. ^^
