So I've heard, it is basically "Batman in a mecha" meets 1930's Humphrey Bogart Gangster Films, animated in a Retro 1970's "Astro Boy" manner.

i don't know why Emotion (a Bandai company) adopted the 'batman' style artwork since american animation crap style doesn't mix with japanese animation style...

It's not an american style....the first season of batman was done by japanese artists....

Why do people not think it's not an anime? It's so goddamn obvious it's anime! Look at the people, who the f*ck draws people like that?? Japanese do!! NO american company can animate so smoothly like that(except disney but they won't make something this cool). You see any american 'cartoons' have giant robots like that?? Damn I think the BIg O is so cool am I the only one? Damn I don't understand how you can mistake such a well animated series for an american one. All americans do are bugs bunny type things. And that thundercat, superman all that stuff on CN *IS* made by japanese people.

Damn straight. Just by looking at the darkness and the emotional impact of "Batman" you would immeadiately know that American animators WON'T EVER touch the concept with a fifty foot pole. Only the Japanese are willing to animate such a masterpiece. And hence Batman is one of the few non-Simpsons American animation that are ever worth watching (NOT the new series, however.)

hmmm, No wonder why I loved the first season of Batman so much. When I was in 3rd grade, I couldn't wait to get home and watch it.

No american animation company would touch something like Big O...it's not really a comedy and has a more mature and thinking plot line...something which hardly any animation company in the US gives a crap about. I think one of the last animated shows that had anything worth a plot that was made here was probably Gargoyles...now we get tones of Powerpuff Girls and...whatever they put out now. Yes it is anime...just because the coloring is different and the style is a little different doesn't mean it's not anime. My heck look at the difference between Dragonball to Escaflowne to Rurouni Kenshin...they look nothing like each other!

If they were the first two, I suggest you see a few more as the first two can get pretty confusing.

How can anyone not love this show? The plot is smooth and I don't know about other people, but I actually understand the show.

It seems to me that this thread got a little out of control. I mean this thread was started because Yue wanted to know what The Big O is about not everyone's opinion of the show.

To be honest, I am getting a little tired of seeing posts about how much everyone hates The Big O. I don't go around and say how much I hate certian animes. It seems really wrong to tell someone how horrible an anime is before they get a chance to even know anything about it.

I have just noticed that a great many of the post in this forrum are all about how awful The Big O is. I am just asking that people back off a little. If you don't like the show then why would you want go to the forrum about it.

You know, you have a point? Every time I want to visit this thread, it takes me about 20 minutes.
