What is it about Dilandua that makes these guys fiercely loyal to him... that includes Jajuka... is this all part of the scheme that good ol Aaron/dornkirk cooked up? did he make their faiths tie in together so that they are loyal to each other?
Hmmm, I don't think so. If you notice when Van had the flash back after killing alot of them they said why they were so loyal to Dilandau because he gave them their Melefs and made their unit what it was...

Even though Dilandau 'created' them, I still think that their loyalty is a bit confusing..considering that they love rather than fear him. After all, Dilandau is a raging psychopath, and doesn't hesitate to smack a subordinate about the ears whenever it suits his whim.
It almost seems that the Dragonslayers look up to him...strange. What a buncha naive 'lil boys.

I'm guessing they were slum kids or something Dilandau took in. He gave them rank, status, prestige (they are an elite unit), and the best damn melefs in Zaibach. That sort of thing can mean a lot to people who used to have nothing. I'd put up with an awful lot from someone who made me what I am. Plus there's the possibility that they're all in bed together. I mean they're all pretty boys, just like the big D. And the 'big D' is certainbly sick enough to do something like that.

That's an interesting twist Dryden-san... hm... I was also wondering if they were ever aware if Dilandau IS Allen's long lost sister... Jajuka was, which is partly why he is deddicating himself to him/her.
otherwise, Dornkirk might have meant them to relate that way to each other... Dornkirk might purposely want that kind of situation to happen to drive Dilandau insane and to lead the the events that followed to the ending of the series... remember, he does know what's going to happen, he can see the future... he probably devised some kind of method or experiment on the Dragon Slayers themselves...
On the otherhand... Just like what he did with Folken. He knew he was going to get to him... and he probably knew Folken would run into the cat sisters... and use them as his trump cards to create the future that he wanted. (he=Dornkirk)

I figure that if Dilandau's minions knew about his "condition", they would start to act all disloyal. Then again it is only my opinion.

Seeing who Dilandau truly is,he has to be gay.
Personally I'd prefer following Folken.
And like Dryden said, they gave them rank, status, prestige and cool uniforms.I think I'd want to be a Dragon Slayer just to wear that cool suit lol!
And also,if Dornkirk could get a man as wise as Folken to his side, surely a bunch of power hungry teenagers weren't that hard to win to the Zaibach cause.

I think for the Dragon Slayers it was like being in the "in crowd". To actually be in it was really cool. As mentioned they were part of the "elite" squad which would definitely float anyone ego. Like any person, to be accepted as what anyone would really want... add status, fear/respect, and power given to you and you have yourself and very dedicated soldier.... thats how i see it anyways.

Dilandu didn't HAVE to be gay. The Fate Alteration basically transformed her into her opposite. From a gentle girl to a sadistic guy. So I don't see why her sexual preference would stay the same. *blinks*
Zaibach looked like a very dark and depressing place. It was probably a great honour to be accepted into Dilandau's unit. You got fame, strength and to travel. He was revered as a god when you see them addressing him. No matter how nasty he is they still have nothing but admiration for him.

The Dragonslayers were really loyal to Dilandau despite his attitude problem. But some people are just weird in who they would choose to be loyal to. They have admired his leadership but its unfortunate that they had to die like that.

You also notice that Dilandu did actually care for them. The worst he ever did when they messed up was smack them. That's more than I can say for some other villans. Also, when Zongi killed that one Dragonslayer, Dilandu got mad and killed Zongi because of it. Finding out that the others died from Jajuka got quite an emotional response from him, too. I think that's why they were loyal to him.

I really don't think the Dragonslayers ever knew that he was really Celena. Celena was kidnapped, and turned into Dilly when she was 5. They were probably recruited a few years later, around the ages of 6 or 7. Heehee...I found the names of imaginary angels in our religion textbooks quite amusing...Dalet, and Gimmel (without and "e"). :fftopic:
