Should i see the earlier BGC before 2040?

Well i plan on getting BGC 2040 pretty soon, but i havnt seen the other two (crash, and the other one, BGC 2032 or whatever)
So before i see 2040 do you think its necessary that i see the others? I dont want to go into the series and not really know whats going on, or miss out on some previous character developement or something you know. From what i have heard im pretty sure that the series are seperate but dont they have the same characters in them?
Anyway help me out here

Well, for the sake of completeness, you should watch 2032 and Crash at some point, but it isn't essential by any means. Nor is it essential to watch them before or after 2040.

I watched 2032 first, then 2040, then Crash! Talk about getting everything mixed up :)

Watching 2032 first will have you thinking a number of things when you watch 2040 later.......

1) Nene's hair should be pink!!!!!!!!!!
2) The Boomers actually look seriously scary!
3) Hey, the explanation they give for (X) in 2040 should have been given in the original, why is it only 8 shows long!?!?!?!
4) The animation in 2040 is so much better that 2032 it is untrue, but it helps that the story rocks as well.

In regards to 4 what do you mean? The animeation IS alot cleaner in 2040...:confused:

The animation in 2040 is alot cleaner because the original (Bubblegum Crisis) was done a little while back. 2040 lacks the music popularity which had made BGC extremely popular.

Basically they did now justice for the original with the new one. Everything has changed in 2040. I have found it cute and entertaining, but not at all like its predessor.

It's true it doesn't matter which one you see first because either of them have no impact as for the plot goes.

But if possible watch the original.

Watch the origional series... the K-Suits are cooler.

Dont forget that the origional series was done in the 1980s/early 1990s. ie Robotech era... of course the animation is going to be cleaner in the 2040 series.

I agree but alot of ppl won't. I think the music in 2040 is good but not as good as 2032.

Whats the music like in crash? I own all of 2032 but cant get crash. theis is most anoying but i dont have any control over it.
