Don't worry, the movie doesn't exist...
And I doubt it will, due to the fact that the manga has finished and that it would be bad to continue it even more... it is already long enough.
If they ever make a movie, it could be like the Escaflowne one, a "remake" of the series... but I don't think they'll do it...

I watched the second OAV a week ago!!!! it's SOOOOOOO good! way better than the first, in my opinion... I'm still confused about the first... I don't get where that big villain comes from! >< I'll have to watch it again...

Speaking of the Phillipines, that's where I was vacationing last year around this time, an also the first place I saw Fushigi Yugi (though over there they broadcast it on cable TV as "Curious Play"). They had a huge-ass anime marathon that included most of Fushigi Yugi including the OAV series all in one lump, continuous broadcast, so I could see how it could be mistaken for a movie.

I noticed that the dub actors they used for "Curious Play" were different than the ones they used here, not surprised about that though. They've got a better Chichiri dub voice than they do here, for sure :p and they omitted translating "no da" entirely, which I think shoudl have been done in the dub here, but ah well..

I don't where you heard the rumour of any Fushigi Yuugi movie but some baka ain't no Watase fan at all.

There are in total. 52 TV episodes and 2 OAVs (9 episodes in total).

Whoever gave you this info is an idiot!
