The OAVs

I watched the second OAV last week, and loved it. but I was confused about the first, and still am.... I got a question: where does that big villain (don't remember his name >< anyway) comes from?

I know he was a prince in the real world and been executed and all... but... I didn't get what happened in the first OAV! how did he became this powerful and all? neh?

truthfully, that first OAV was so weird... it confused me so much... I prefer way more the second one ^^

Nakago worshipped Tenkou...the Hin tribe that he came from did. The thing was, in Japan, this Prince guy found the Shi Jin Ten Chi Shou (Is that right?...Universe of the Four Gods: Sky & Earth) and recognized it as a portal to another world. He was going to harness the magical power of the portal and thus the world it led to...and its Gods...so that he could become super-powerful. He had begun sorcerous work with the book/scroll (at that time) by the time they executed him. Therefore, when he died, he went into the universe of the book through the portal. Basically, I think he like...created/took over their Hell and became the Majin (Evil Being? Um...the Devil...) through the use of his sorcery. When he became the Majin, his powers encompassed that of the Majin...but he still wanted to become a God. Therefore, he set things up so that once he had enough power (generated by negative emotions, especially when directed at him) he would conquer the universe of the book and then our world. He got...REALLY close to doing so. The only thing that could stop him was direct intervention of the Four Gods...since he was the Majin of their universe and they alone have power over him....


Does that make sense?

I think i posted this response regarding the first OVA of FY.... the first ova is FY on acid.... Its nice to watch but you can do without it.... IMHO i think it causes more confusion then anything else.

:eek: WOW Doku! thanks a lot!!! I understand now why Nakago knew that ugly guy... ok... so in fact he became the devil-like of the book.... ok.... COOL! ^^

IIRC, the First OAV wasn't part of the original manga (the OAV's cover volumes 14-18). I think it was meant as a transition series from the TV series coverage (ending at volume 13 of the manga) to the OAV coverage (14 of the manga and onward). So I think that may account for some of the confusion. It's meant to explain some things, but I think they could have held it together with just the second OAV series. But I definitely can't fault the first OAV because it was decent, and of course, the famous "bus trip"! I'll never forget that, I saw it a year ago and I just got the Oni DVD box set yesterday and it still makes me laugh ^_- Even the dub's funny.

My favorite part was when they were using poor Suboshi and Amiboshi to talk trash to each other...
